Re Coop regular saver, mine has matured today. Can I just crack on today and open a new one?
If the old one has gone then yes. Seem to recall it takes a few days to process.
It's still there but now called a Smart Saver so technically I'd assume that means Inonger have a regular saver?

Recently started a RS with Chorley.  First payment was received quite quickly,  second was quite slow. Anybody care to share any opinions re Chorley,  in particular speed of payment,  customer service, any specific foibles etc ? TIA .
    Re Chorley

I've had repeated RS's with them since 2016. Never the best, interest-wise, but always competitive. Monthly payment limit was upped to £400 (from £250) about a year ago, which is good. Never had to phone them about anything (that I recall), everything runs smoothly online. Gripe: they are one of the slower ones to update online after a deposit made but it IS fairly predictable. SO by FP leaves bank account in early hours of Day 1, shows in Chorley by around midday on Day 2 (assuming both days are banking days)

So, another question. Bearing in mind I made a payment into the now matured RS on 1st Sept, if I open a new one today will I be able to pay in straight away or will I have to wait until October to pay in as I'll already have paid into a Coop RS this month?

Was your second payment sent at weekend?  Chorley don't credit weekend deposits until the next working day.  Deposits made on working day are credited on the same day, but don't show until next day.

Now you're asking, I think I was able to do this at last maturity but not certain.

Someone here will know, otherwise suck it and see.

    Co-op
You can apply today, but it takes a couple days for account to be opened.  You can fund it as soon as it is opened.  When it is opened it will be a new account, so it doesn't matter what you have paid into your old one.

Thanks. For some reason this was one of the ones I funded on the 15th of every month. I now try to fund all on the 1st as it makes it easier to know the date to have funds in current account for standing orders. Therefore I HAVEN'T funded this month as it transpires anyway!

You could have made 13th payment into Co-op RS, there is no maximum balance for this account.

I've just checked my records, last time it took 4 working days to open Co-op RS.

Yep. I'm rather more honed in my RS approach now and will pay in as soon as it opens and then set up another 12 standing orders for the 1st of month.
