I've just requested an application from from Monmouthsire and they wouldn't send one.  I mentioned that I'm a current customer.  He wouldnt budge.
I’ve just printed off Savings Application Form as linked above
    And get into tomorrow’s post.
I’m not going to send a cheque will just see if they accept and open the Branch Exclusive and then fund online

I wonder if they are cracking down on applications by post for this account …… fingers crossed …. Will update if all goes ok
I'd include a cheque.  An application form on its own (for an account you cant apply for by post) could simply go into the shredder.  An application form with a cheque should require the cheque to be paid in, or returned to the applicant.  If there's doubt, give yourself an advantage, no matter how small.

Monthly, definitely not. When I raided mine to fund 7-8% savers in 2023 I didn't pay in for months and left it with a minimal balance. They might take action if less than £1 was left in the account though, and as no interest is paid in the month of closure as I recall it doesn't seem worth risking.
  • Recently started a RS with Chorley.  First payment was received quite quickly,  second was quite slow. Anybody care to share any opinions re Chorley,  in particular speed of payment,  customer service, any specific foibles etc ? TIA .
