£64.12 interest added to my Virgin yesterday so that's
£5.82 + £25.28 + £43.58 + £64.12 = £138.80 in interest.
Funded it today with £250, £3138.80 balance.
If I'm right this lasts until the end of this month, which should mean another interest payout yeah? 🤔0 -

Can anybody tell me when it will be matured and interest added? It is hit and miss. The fastest way is to keep the savings account they opened last year active. If you had a reg saver with them last year. For me in that situation this year my savings and interest were in the account next day.As soon as the reg saver vanished I applied for a new one, Took 3/4 day.If you do not have the old savings account open, 3/5 days is the average wait for your money.Or call and ask for it today, they will move it and give access.
I opened a saving account with them in Feb, and it currently has £1 in it. Would they use that to transfer the RS into? No, It is called, Savings account @ 1.35% interest rate. They open it not you. I just left £0.01p in it last year.
Also there's no minimum balance for FD savings account so it's not necessary to keep any money there.2 -

I want to "refresh" my santander which has £1200 in it, I thought I had to request closure using the button on Sandi, the online chat (and then open up a new one in a day or so) but when I do this it says "if your account hasn't matured yet, you might miss out on interest" - before I go ahead, it presumably means the interest I would have had if I kept the account until maturity, I will still get interest on the £1200 in there, is this the case?
Thank you so much for being kind if this is a silly question!Yes, you will get the interest up until closure. It says to reduce the balance to zero first, then request to close.Already have a Regular Saver?
You’ll need to close your existing account as you can only have one Regular Saver at a time.
To do this, you’ll need to reduce the balance of the account to zero, then contact us to close the account.
It can take up to 2 working days for your account to close. Any accrued interest from your closed account will be moved to your Santander current account from which the standing order was paid.
I did this yesterday, emptied the account, then contacted Sandi. It was referred to a human who asked what account I wanted the interest paid to, which was my current account. That was all actioned by end of day yesterday and I opened the new one this morningSave £12k in 2022 #54 reporting for duty3 -
does anyone know how long it usually takes for overpayments into a YBS regular saver to be returned ?I was doing the monthly deposits into my regular savers today and I overpaid into their £50 RS - I got a secure message saying that they were keeping the £50 and returning the rest...So we're refunding the amount you overpaid by Faster Payments or BACS into the account you sent the funds from. This will happen within 10 working days (excluding weekends and bank holidays) and won't have any impact on your withdrawal allowance.in practice, is it normally just a day or two as suggested in their chat??update: it was returned the next day.1
