Bridlington1 Thanks for the idea to refresh Monmouth. I wasn't even considering it.Bridlington1 said:I'd generally agree, I tend to open as soon as possible but then refresh if still available at the end of the month, this way I've secured the account if it goes NLA but if it's still available I've got a maturity date of the end of the month which works out better for cashflow so I get the best of both worlds.
The likes of Monmouthshire and Skipton are handy in this regard, you can get your application in as soon as it's available and then just delay the date of your initial deposit to pick your preferred maturity date.
I want to spread out my maturities next year, way too many maturity proceeds in Aug & Sep of 2026.
I was planning to refresh Monmouth Reg Saver Iss 8.
I realise that I have Two Reg Saver Iss 8, opened in July 2025. General feedback here was that extra Reg Saver were to be closed automatically by the bs, I funded only one per month, expecting the other one to be closed by them.In Sep 2025, I was told, to my surprise, by their lovely CS exec that I can fund the other Reg Saver Iss 8, so I had been doing the transfers in since Sep 2025. I understand I m amongst very few ppl who have their duplicate accts surviving.
Now if I close the July25 Iss 8 RS, with the intention to refresh it, I m wondering will they allow me to open a new one?
Personally, if I wanted to be able to keep funding two of the same issue, I wouldn't push my luck, if I were you!4 -
What does it mean to “refresh” a regular saver? Is it just opening the same issue after it has matured?1
-
It means closing an account before it matures and immediately reopening the same issue.dibbles212 said:What does it mean to “refresh” a regular saver? Is it just opening the same issue after it has matured?3 -
I spoke to Dudley yesterday and they had been having technical problems with their website since Friday.
It could be that they have temporarily stopped online applications until the issues have been resolved which the person I spoke to didn't think would happen until Monday.6 -
Dudley Festive Saver
When I tried just before noon, I did so also by logging in and clicking 'Apply', and the account was not listed in the permissible accounts whereas many others were. But hoping this is linked to a technical issue rather than withdrawal. Let's see what Monday brings.1 -

Goodnight and Merry Christmas 🎅0 -
IIRC, the 25th is just stated as the latest date in the month Halifax recommend you make a payment to ensure it's credited before the end of that month. I'm not sure what delays they're accounting for, though. In reality, I find that payments into Halifax accounts are credited instantly.Bob2000 said:HALIFAX REGULAR SAVER.

February. If 25th was a Friday and FPs are only guaranteed at the end of the next working day, which would be the 28th.refluxer said:

It makes a bit more sense now that banks are given longer to process FPs (or soon will be) but Halifax have had these terms for years.3
