I don't think I have seen this mentioned.  The max balance is £3600, so if you have the interest payment on 31/8/26 paid into this account , I  presume the 12th and final payment into the account will have to be reduced to keep within the max balance ?
I've not read the Hanley T&Cs but maximum balances usually exclude any added interest, so add the full payment as normal.

Good spot - I think this is an oversight on their part. They should have said "max deposits" not "max balance". Hard to know what will actually happen if you're taken over the limit in the final month - I guess we will see in a year's time!

Just given my maturity instruction for my Principality 6 Month Regular Saver Issue 3 maturing on 7/11.

No secure message sent so looks good.
out of interest, what did you choose to do with the remainder - transfer to external account or another PBS internal account? from past posts, i'm wondering if transferring to an external account doesn't generate a secure message.

I have an RS3 maturing on the 7th and have just chosen the same maturity options online as last time - option 4, £200 to another RS4, remainder to a PBS EA account... secure message generated by the maturity option choice at 11:24am, reply received at 11:29am - thankfully our unnamed friend wasn't working today and the instructions were accepted by one of male colleagues.
always external to my Santander current a/c and option 4.

I think when you transfer to internal a/c, it generates a message to give staff an opportunity to review your choice and maybe advise you of a more suitable account.
thanks for that - i'll try to remember next time (this time next month with my last RS3), to send to an external account and see if it still generates a secure message.
Just out of curiosity, why did you go for internal instead of external?
I had EA with them long before I got into RS, so it was more of a convenience (I assumed for both parties) to have an internal transfer (never used to fund additional RS with them)... and then when I read of members maturity options being rejected (and had it happen to me), it made logical sense (perhaps wrongly) that if no money was leaving PBS during maturity, there would be no need for manual intervention... i'm pretty sure that all of my maturity selections have generated secure messages, so i'm curious to know if it still will when I choose the external option next time.

I'm sure 12 payments of £300 will be fine.  They can't possibly expect savers to calculate their interest themselves and reduce their deposits for the last month :).

    Re- Hanley
I'm a patient person, really!  Opened the regular saver on 20 Oct. Sent a payment through on 21 Oct using the reference number.  On 23 Oct an email gave me a temporary security number.  Today I received a letter with my account number - but still no user name!
I'll phone on Monday by which time I hope to be less annoyed.
It's mentioned on the Hanley specific thread from a couple of years ago that it is possible to call, pass security and be given your user id over the phone.  I sort of recall doing this in 2023 when I opened my first branch account with them.

Maybe this would work for Scottish BS also.  I've found their Aberdeen branch to be very helpful.

I did read somewhere, perhaps in the email, that we can call them (Hanley) if the user name does not arrive. I received the welcome pack today, only containing confirmation of the account number, so will call on Monday and cite this.

Scottish BS were quite clear when I spoke to them that the online details arriving by post was part of their security set up.

I had to ring Hanley yesterday because I couldn't open their encrypted Welcome Pack email for my first ever account with them. I passed security but they would not give me my UserID over the phone. They said they will send the Welcome Pack via snail mail with the UserID ... although I'm sure I've seen somewhere that the UserID might arrive separately in a different letter. Guess I'll have to wait and see.

Just received an email from Hinckley and Rugby saying they will be launching a Christmas Saver 30 Day Notice account on 1st November, paying 5% variable on up to £100 per month.

Account converts to an Easy Access on maturity on 1 November 2026. Can be opened with £1 and deposits not required each month.

    I'll pass.
I may go with this to get a presence on case they offer anything attractive in future
