I had my Scottish BS online letter arrive today (dated 15th) - as an idea of timescales I posted off an application pretty much as soon as it was launched, my cheque cleared on 6th Oct, and I registered for online access once my glossy passbook arrived about a week after the cheque cleared. Fans of the previous Monmouthshire online portal may experience a touch of deja vu.

Yes i registered for Scottish BS online on 13/10 and awaiting activation code. 

It’s all a very slow process !

I have now opened and funded my Scottish savings online but no RS available as yet.

I wonder how many grumbles we will see if Scottish BS decide there are enough applications for the account and the funding is anticipated sufficient for them to decide to make it NLA and not actually offer an online version?

Just open it by post, folks.

I will have some funds for it tomorrow and the rest by the end of the week, so I don’t know whether to just post off for it in the interest of getting it open this month…

I had nearly forgotten that I sent my application (using Freepost) on October 9. Today, my opening deposit cheque got cashed so it can’t be long until I get my passbook etc in the snail mail. Hoping it will all be much faster from here ….. 🤞

WOW!!

My passbook was in this morning’s post.  Cheque payment credited on the 10th - even though it was only cashed today 🙂

I am glad I sent off the postal application 

Not sure whether I have online access yet. I will try tonight when I get home

Not until you've received your user id and activation code (by post), you need to register (online) now you have your account number.

I am a bit confused by reports that people have applied for the Scottish BS RS "online"? The version I am waiting for (patiently!) is not the version (at 6.5%) where you can visit a "Relationship Centre" or apply by post. Have I missed that they have issued a version (at 6.5%) that can be applied for purely online? Reports on here say it was due out shortly?

I’ve opened the Scottish Building Society R/S by post 
My account is open and funded but I’m yet to get online access to my account as waiting still for the activation code. 

Don’t think the online R/S version is available yet
