CS says it is OK to write on the form "Will open by Bank Transfer when A/C is open" or similar.1 -
No, they just requested the details of a linked bank account for verification.DealSeeker11 said:

I have opened that one online to see if it makes the postal application smoother, I can wait 6 months for the 100 quid back.mhoc said:Mansfield
I was going to start by opening an online esaver to make withdrawals easy but there seems to be only an esaver which requires a £100 balance and 180 days notice for withdrawals ... there does not seem to be just a basic esaver available
Still undecided if a brand based account it worth the effort with the faff of passbooks1 -
Mansfield: Application pack received today, so impressed with their efficiency given I messaged them on Thursday evening. First class postage franked at £3.30 - what times we live in!Hopefully enclosing a cheque will allow me to squeeze that payment in before the end of January.3

Still undecided if a brand based account it worth the effort with the faff of passbooksI opened their online eSaver min £10 per month with 30 days notice for withdrawls on Thursday. Electronic ID verification immediate with now linked bank account. Although it's not a means for transfering matured funds, it allowed me to access the website; activation code and User ID in the post and received within 2 days. I've logged in and it's like the Monmouthshire BS portal where you can add an account using the + button at the top, so I'll be adding the Mansfield 6% RS once it's opened; application posted on Thursday. Now that I have a linked bank account, the 6% RS maturity options should be easier without the need to transfer monies into an EA to withdraw 180 days later; no thank you
However, what I found with Dudley BS is that I have both the Online Festive RS & Postal/Branch RS. The postal/ branch version doesn't have an option to withdraw funds electronically to my linked bank account, so unless it appears before maturity, then it will involve faffing around with written postal closure & withdrawl as it can't be done via secure message
as per T&C's.# No.2 Save 1p A Day Challenge 2026 £118.34 / £667.95 (1)# No.4 Save £12k in 2026 £3635.93 / £12,000 (1)# No.4 £2 Savers Club 2026 - (25/12 - 24/10) £50 / £200 (1)# No.8 Sealed Pot Challenge 19 - 2026 - 24/12 - 24/10 £50+ / £400 (1)# No.5 Fiver Friday Challenge 2026 £40/£230 (1)# Make £2026 in 2026 £898.78 / £2026 (1)2 -
I may be wrong, or they may have changed since last autumn, but they would only allow their online (specific) accounts to be drawn out to the nominated account. The branch accounts could only be withdrawn via cheque or cash. At least that's what the Mansfield branch told me when I called in to close an account.Dizzycap said:

All I'm saying is don't get your hopes up. You may still need to send off for a cheque!0 -
Just found the form to message them, Mansfield is more appealing if you can request a pack without needing to wait in a phone queue.masonic said:Mansfield: Application pack received today, so impressed with their efficiency given I messaged them on Thursday evening. Have done so and will hopefully be able to send it off when there is a gap I need to fill.0 -
How best to find out which are changing their rates? I have some fixed and some variable, but so far not many of the variable are going down. Is it just waiting for notification0

I maintain a list of those that have announced rate cuts so far. A link can be found on p1 of the archived history of regular savers threadPixelPound said:How best to find out which are changing their rates? I messaged them yesterday and today received 2 letters saying there was an application pack enclosed - but neither did.☹️masonic said:Mansfield: Application pack received today, so impressed with their efficiency given I messaged them on Thursday evening. So have printed the form and used a stamp - which I had hoped to avoid.0 -
I splashed out on first class stamps hoping to get a fast turnaround, although they were bought years ago so would have been way under the current rate.Make £2025 in 2025
