From recent experiences, YBS sometimes offer a variable rate but don't reduce it even if the base rate falls - the £50 regular saver at 8% never dropped if I remember correctly?jaypers said:
Think I will pass. If the interest rate was fixed or the amount permitted was higher I might have been tempted but after a flurry of loads of RS accounts over the last 18 months I can no longer be bothered with underwhelming accounts such as this.Marcoos said:YBS Xmas Saver

Still, I haven't got the capacity for any more regular savers at the moment, so I'll pass on this one too.1 -
Minimum initial deposit £1, no requirement to fund every month, online application and management. Aside from the time it takes to open the account and then close it at some point in the future, for an existing YBS customer there's not much to lose by opening the account as part of a backup plan.friolento said:
If you still have funds left over after funding all the higher paying accounts, this is a nice account in a falling interest rate climate.jaypers said:

I notice Dudley BS Loyalty One Year Regular Saver is now 5.75%, from 6.0%, although page 1 states tomorrow's date. I think it may have changed yesterday, don't recall receiving notification from Dudley BS of this change.0

I got notification for change on 14/011 -
I will continue to use my Cahoot sunny day savers for any excess funds rather than open one of these.friolento said:

ETA As quoted above.16 -
I'll wait for the 20th but if you are desperate, you can send your Furness application by post, apparently

That's a shame - Barrow is a tad too far for me to visit a branch. Still, for anyone who's a bit closer, it looks like it can be managed online, once opened.gt94sss2 said:
