JL/Waitrose voucher not recognised

Hi all,
Sorry if this isn’t the correct section to post in, but this seemed to be the one most closely related to vouchers. I’ve got a John Lewis/Waitrose voucher query and hoping someone here might be able to help please.
I got a £200 JL/Waitrose e-gift voucher that can be spent in-store or online, valid from 22 Dec 2022 for 2 years (so, till tomorrow - 22 Dec 2024). My understanding from the JL T&Cs on their website is that, if I spend part of the gift card balance now, the 24-month expiry period will refresh from now, so I don’t need to spend the full balance now.
The problem is that the voucher number doesn’t seem to be valid and I don’t know why. I’m sure I’ve never used the voucher before.
I went into a Waitrose store earlier and the voucher number wasn’t recognised when I scanned it either on the self checkout or the cash registers. I then tried to buy something with it on the JL website to see if the voucher worked there and still no luck.
The gift voucher dept is closed (closes at 12:30 on a Saturday and doesn’t re-open till 9am Monday) so I’ve tweeted them and waiting for a response. In the meantime, does anyone know if there’s anything else I can do please?
Thanks!

Thanks. I’ve now escalated it to JL on Twitter, so if it does expire today and the voucher number turns out to be valid, I’m hoping they will honour it.0

Was there a reason you left it to potentially the very last day of validity0

Have you tried putting the number into the balance checker?

If it does work it resets the expiry date too.0 -

Do you know the heritage of the voucher? Was it definitely topped up when obtained two years ago for example? Do you have the matching receipt showing the initial balance?
Do you have a JL account and login? If so the purchase history may jog some memories - and you can see the payment method.
