That's fab news well done!! So what's the structure changes? Does it effect the job you will be doing?Lemon_Tree wrote: »I'd like to hear more about the financial course you're doing if you don't mind, pm if you'd feel better that way.
Don't mind whether we talk on this thread or via PM, either way - that would you like to know??Lemon_Tree wrote: »I'm off ot visit OH tomorrow so i'm really looking forward to the weekend, wonder if i can do London on ummmmmmmm *checks purse* £2? Could be pushing it a bit.
Hmmm, £2 may be pushing it a bit! But maybe take £20 out the bank tomorrow or something and set yourself a target to spend no more over the weekend! I used to do that with one of my exs because he was a student at the time, we used to call it the £10 challenge weekend and both of us put £10 in - we had to get everything we that, food, travel, activties etc! (£20 is obviously with London weighting

Have you had any further development with BT over the cancellation charge? That's outrageous! I think you were quite right to cancel the DD, but I'm not sure what the legal position would be-have you still got the original paperwork from October?
No development yet, hopefully they'll call in the morning. I have said to them I'll go back onto option 2 as though I hadn't made the change - I'll see what they say but I wanted to stop the DD until I had spoken to someone properly. I have the paper work - it indicates I'm on an 18 month contracts but it reads as though that's with BT, not with the particular option, I'll have to see what they say!!
That's what I thought, I don't think i can realistically be without a car here because although I can walk to work to get anywhere else - e.g. nearby big towns (Cheltenham etc) I need a car but if / when I move to London I will DEINIFTLEY get rid of it, you're right there's no point in having one there!I think it's a great idea to change cars to get something more affordable, or even do without if you are hoping to be in London-no-one I know who lives there has one as the buses and tubes go everywhere they would need to be. And v sensible too, to want to get rid of the nastiest debts before making your move-always good to have a mini back up fund put by when you're moving, and you can't really do that when you have to pay silly interest on the CCs...
How's your day been? Any money making / saving stories today?

Just been catching up on all the click throughs and newsletter sign ups on Pigsback, so am due a fair few points to come through tomorrow-I should be ready to order my first voucher soon!
Have spent 40p today for soup for lunch, and stayed home this evening, so no going out spending today! Which is good, but have to go to London for a bit of a do tomorrow night, so that will cost a bit in train fare and drinks, so its good I've had such a cheap week so far! No major expenses next week either, so am doing pretty well on the money front, and the diet is going well too-have decided to keep it simple, and just not let myself have any snacks at all, which is simple, so I'm more likely to remember it!
Have a great day tomorrow, good luck with BT. I'm with Virgin and don't completely hate them, but have had my own problems with BT in the past!
Just off to bed now, night x0 -
Hi Becky and Lemon Tree,
been away with OH for a couple of days so not been on the web.
Yes, got the job thanks. Although I appear to have ticked one of the bosses off by attempting to open negotiations re: salary.
Oh well, I'm sure he'll get over it!
Hope you're okay.

Ive just had a read through your diary, you seem to be doing really well and are staying motivated. i really hope you get things sorted out with bt soon. i cant believe they would try and charge you that. I wish i could get rid of my car as it would help me get rid of the debt loads sooner but i just cant do without it at the min. Hope everything is well with you.

Thanks Lunar
I haven't hear from BT again today, if I've still not hear anything on Monday I will call them and try and sort it out. Hopefully they'll let me go back to option 2 as though I hadn't tried to change it, but you never know!

Morning,
thanks I hope so too. The new job is defo more work and more responsibility and the suggestion was almost that I should be grateful for the offer to stay on the same salary. Me thinks not. I shall seek advice from others who are wiser than me when it comes to these things.
Might try for an NSD today as the trip away with Oh was v. expensive (although it was all paid for in cash so that's good).
Hope you're having a nice weekend.

Good for you! If it's more responsibility and work then i think it is reasonable to ask for something higher, as you say speak to others in a similar role or something and see what they suggest!MoneyGypsy wrote: »thanks I hope so too. Went to look at a car I saw on the internet last night but they had already sold it
gutted, was all ready to get rid of some debt!
Other than that I bought some groceries and petrol and a new tablecloth so wasn't as cheap as I had hoped. Have made a nice pasta bake today though, should feed me tomorrow and Monday evenings and also bought some end of the day reduced bread rolls which should do for some lunches next week!
Got a friend coming around tonight, DVD night and chocolate!
Managed to save a bit of money as normally I would go to the hairdressers to have my hair dyed but instead I bought a home kit today with my Boots points so a) saving money but not going to hair dresser and b) saving money by using my boots points!
Got a surprise late Xmas present yesterday - £25 cheque from an Aunty I haven't seen for a while - am I allowed to buy myself a new top or should I be good and put it towards my debt??
