Oh of course! Can't wait!

The first thing I'm going to do is dance round my living room. When I've calmed down slightly I am going to save up for a saxophone and take lessons.
Then I want to buy a new bed, new sofa, new stereo, do another skydive etc etc, but I will save up for each in turnno more credit for me! :j

Hey all, I wanted to participate in Lent this year, but I wondered what to give up. I don't eat chocolate, don't smoke, drink very little and I'm already trying to eat heathier.
So I decided that instead of giving something up I would take something on. Someone on another thread suggested yoga or meditation and I thought it was a great idea. So I checked out some meditation methods online, and bought a yoga DVD off Amazon which I'm waiting to arrive.
I aim to meditate for 15 minutes a day, and do the yoga every day (not sure how long the DVD is, so will either do all or 30 mins each day depending on length.)
I meditated for the first time yesterday, and it was really good. Cleared my mind of all my thoughts & I felt much more peaceful.
Also the yoga will increase my exercise, as apart from walking Shadow I don't do any! I want to join a gym, but will leave that til I am debt free, so until then I plan on slowly increasing my exercise. I will start with yoga, then go ice skating once a week again, and start swimming once a week. I don't want to pay out £40 a month for the gym right now, but I think I can justify £10-£15 ish.:D
The more weight I'm losing the more into healthy body & mind I am getting, I even thought about giving up meat the other day, just as an experiment. Might try it next month as my freezer is stocked with chicken & fish at the moment, or I might have 1 or 2 meat free days a week and build up.
My dads gf is a veggie, and I have a penpal who is a vegan, so will ask them for recipes as apart from quorn mince I have no idea.

My DVD arrived today! :T So I had a go.
The presenter was a little annoying, a little patronising, with a stupid smile plastered on her face. The DVD is 'Basic Yoga for Dummies', so I suppose I should have expected the presenter talk to you like a child
Some of the positions were hard to hold, but I could feel my muscles stretching so hopefully should help to tone me upEven thou it wasn't strenuous, I was sweating a little at the end, so seems to be perfect for easing me into more exercise.
The DVD lasted 45 minutes, so I will try to do this every day, and on the days I'm rushed do at least 6 of the 12 positions.Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

Hiya
I didn't realise you had a diary! Shadow looks identical to our dog accept ours is a little greyer round the edges now! Looks like we'll be learning the saxaphone at around the same time. I've always wanted to learn and am hoping to have one for my 40th instead of a party. Well done on your debt busting xx0 -

Shadow will be 3 in March, can't believe I've had her that long! I can't wait to get my saxophone. Before Christmas my step-dad told me that he would teach me, I've known him for 11 years and never knew he played! :rolleyes:Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!
