  • No skin of my nose, no different to switch incentives for new customers only.
  • A little disappointed that they've closed the loop hole that prevents existing customers getting it. We got the initial bonus, (also managed to extend it until January) so it's only fair that new customers can benefit. After all, it's only a temporary bonus.

    Not really too fussed. I’ll just move money out when the bonus rate ends in January. There are higher paying accounts anyway. If they want me to hold cash with them again, they will need to make it worth my while.
  • As an existing customer it's not great but to be fair, I've had it good with a rate of 5.1% till Jan so I'll just move it on possibly to Gatehouse @ 5% I know that could change but its an option for now.

    I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
    The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
    I listen all night for your step on the stair.

    Did you spot it dropped to 4.75% in October and then again to 4.50% last month ? It's only the 1% bonus that's guaranteed - the underlying rate is now 3.50% as it tracks the base rate -1.25%.

    !!!!!!, I don’t know how I missed that. When I look at my account it says, 5.1%  Jan 25/ 4.5% AER boosted. So, I thought it was still 5.1% till Jan.

    I’m not sure but the bit that says 5.1% Jan 25 must have been a name I put on the account when I opened it. Thanks for the heads up, I’ll try and find a new home for it today.

    Don't feel too bad, I did exactly this. Think Chase compel you to name your account. Confused me for a week or so too.

    In addition, the existing Chase savings accounts pre 9 December 24 are having their underlying rate reduced to 1.5% below BOE base rate from 19 Feb 25, so down to 3.25%, assuming BOE stays at 4.75%.
    Email  from Chase to me today 19/12/24

    We’re making some changes to our Saver Account Terms and Conditions from 19 February 2025 that you should be aware of. We’ve outlined a summary of the changes below:

    • The AER of the Chase saver account is currently 1.25% below the Bank of England base rate. We're changing this percentage difference from 1.25% to 1.50%. This means if the Bank of England rate is 4.75%, the AER of our saver will be 3.25%. You can find the Bank of England base rate on their website at any time.

    You've also got a Chase saver with a boosted rate. This boosted rate offer is subject to any changes to the standard Chase saver variable rate.

    Time to move on to another savings provider for me.
