Your Tree sounds like a lovely focal point for all the rest of us!

It's 6 geese a laying so perhaps egg-shaped or white ones today?.  I am going to choose a happy pair of non gosling-related earrings later after a lazy morning
  • I have a scarf with lots of penguins on,  no evidence of eggs though 😂😂
  • I did actually have a-lay-in 😂

    Tree sounds lovely @KajiKita

    Good thinking @Wanna_Bee_Free

Concealed penguin eggs definitely works @Debsnewbudget 😁

Seven swans a-swimming tomorrow, I have a beautiful bird pendant so that will represent!

I think it's 6 geese a laying today.  I'd like to be able to say I cooked a goose egg omelette today but alas not.  Instead I dug deep for a goose related treat and remembered Sherlock Holmes and the Blue Carbuncle where an unfortunate goose is a key part of the storyline.  I found the Jeremy Brett version and thoroughly enjoyed it.  Perfect for a wintery, rainy late afternoon with a cup of tea and choccie biscuit.

@KajiKita the tree is very useful for lots of the birds over the twelve days of Christmas,  hope there's enough room for the forthcoming swans

Enjoying wearing my 'not a swan' bird pendant today, it's brightening up a very stormy day

'Eight maids a-milking' tomorrow, a nice easy one for those of us who take milk in our tea and coffee!

Due to circumstances beyond my control ......
I had planned to go to a local formal gardens and lake today where there are plenty of swans a swimming but it was closed due to the stormy weather.
so along with penguins and kettles etc I'd like to add a few owls on a scarf into the mix.

We got invited out to a black tie event NYE, very last minute! Friends have a live band specialising in spanish music and a country house pub had booked them for a dinner and dancing event, and said they could bring a couple of guests. We didn't go for the dinner but joined a few hours before midnight for the dancing. I had fallen last weekend on a family hike in Snowdonia, so really not feeling up to much but thought I could go along to keep hubby company and support our musician friends. Was a bit worried as I have a knee support on so fancy frock and heels were out. Settled on a pair of high quality black leggings, a black floaty long blouse, silver ballet flats and a pair of silver Native American earrings hubby brought from Ohio this year. I was really quite worried I wouldn't fit in but though there was a lot of posh evening gowns and very coiffed clientele, there were definitely people there who had gone for a more individual look, especially to enjoy the dancing - a man in black tie with immaculate white trainers, a woman wearing doc martins under her long dress! Reminded me it's all about how you carry it.
No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!
