Interestingly I sent 3 items on Monday, not delivered yet according to EBay app.  I don’t normally but I checked direct on RM site and all are showing as delivered several hours ago.  Might get interesting post February

The app is not always the most reliable, but ebay rely on any carrier to send the updated information on tracking at various time points of t he day, sometimes this can result in a delay of upto 24 hours before tracking shows as delivered or updated.

My big concern with the holding of funds until delivery, what happens if send an item to say Fiji (and yes we have done) where the delivery usually takes up to 6 weeks, are ebay saying they will now sit on my funds for 6 weeks? If thats the case thats not very good if you wish to sell overseas?

Yes I think that will be the case, but if you use GSP then your 48 hours starts as soon as it arrives at the ebay hub.I suspect a lot of people will be moving over to GSP because of this.

I too thought that with delivery to GSP centre funds would be released after 48 hours but in this weeks chat the Community Team said

'Private sellers using GSP will have to wait for the item to be delivered to the buyer before the payments are released. Depending on the location and service used it could possibly take several weeks for the payment to be received by the seller. '

That contradicts what the original announcement said- but nothing surprises me with ebay. If that is the case I may rethink allowing my items to go overseas from my private account.

Just to complicate things the main announcement still says after arrival at the ebay hub

Getting paid for items you've sold | eBay

The other problem is that GSP is not universal - it never has been and I doubt it will be. So it still begs the question what happens to my items for example going to Fiji? There are only around 100 countries in the GSP programme, also what does the buyer pay 4% on the GSP shipping price? or only on the portion to Litchfield?

The way it was always set up was that fees/charges were paid on the UK end of things, so item cost and UK postage. It seems unlikely that a buyer will pay fees on the extra bit that ebay charge for onward shipping.

However for the Fiji example, if you are shipping direct then I would think fees will be paid by buyer on the lot as ebay won't be charging overseas postage on the onward journey as it goes straight to seller. I can't see how ebay can apportion fees based on what it would have cost in the UK.

I suspect that whilst some sellers might be affected, it will be a very small minority and perhaps just a one off. I can understand business sellers routinely selling stuff to far flung countries not in the GSP, but far less likely for most private sellers.

yes I have many concerns the same and more i don't use apps and sometimes couriers have shown item in transit for weeks but yet buyer has left feedback to say item has been delivered. ebay said to me in legal worded response word for word that "unfortunately funds will only be released upon tracking shown delivered" so what happens to the funds in the meantime? i explain more about this and more in my petition link below. It needs way more signatures, please sign it against  ebay new policy and share on. kind thanks

For untracked deliveries, or tracked deliveries when there is no delivery confirmation, funds will become available 14 calendar days from the order date

If this is to be the case then maybe the thread title could be changed, at the minute it's a bit misleading.
this is what they told me I underlined the screen shot in Red, that is word for word legally binding statement, that funds will only be released if trackgin shows delivered if you used a tracked service. wonder what happens with local pick up???
