So the plan is to spend £365 in Dec 2025 rather than just £100?
:D:D - That's what I was thinking. This years personal Christmas Challange was a 'Total FREE Christmas' and I've achieved it. Christmas 2024 has cost me £0 o:)
However, this is still a good challenge, especially when you actually save the money physically in a jar, tin or envelope because then you're less tempted to spend it as cash is at times, difficult to hand over, especially on non-essential Christmas tat. It's surprising how suddenly you can make do or mend, or even make your own gifts & decorations for example, often on a small budget or for FREE.
Please could I join in with £2 a Day and please could I have No.12 - Thank you <3

  • I hope everyone is having a lovely Xmas day.
I have put £31 away into my Xmas pot for January and hopefully I may be able to add a bit more before February.

  • Hi

I have added any new requests and updated totals.

@Dizzycap - this year I would be keen to do Christmas a bit cheaper. Although I did my savings, I still overspent, but I think it was more on food as prices were much higher this year.  I should try and hold out for the cheap veggies that are available nearer the day.  Is there a challenge for 'Christmas for Free'?  I think I'd like to join it!

I have made a small purchase for next Christmas, which is very unlike me! 2 pairs of Father Christmas socks, for me and DH :) £2 spent, but I won't take it out of the pot.

@try_harder it's easier when you know it's going in and will make a difference in 12 months!

My plan for this year will be the same as last year - to get done and dusted with purchasing and wrapping gifts by 1st December, it was so much calmer doing it this way.

DH usually struggles with Christmas and gets quite low in mood, so I felt better about everything by being more organised. I think it rubbed off on him too as his mood didn't have the dip it usually does.

    new challenge?
