I caught up with a lot of the housework yesterday so the  house is feeling much cleaner and calmer (in so far as it can!).  The hoover plug - one of the pins seems to have been bent, so I can't plug it in which is annoying.  It was fine on Friday.  Not sure what's happened there.  I have a vague recollection of tripping over it on Friday so maybe I've done something.

We now have the towel rail fitted in the bathroom, so we've got somewhere to hang the towels, and also a source of heat!  DH touched up some of the paintwork at the weekend, so it's now looking like it's starting to all come together.  Hopefully we can get the woodwork done soon, and touch up some bits on the ceiling, and then it will just be the flooring.

Hope everyone is well, I'll try and get back to posting more regularly.  I feel like my spending taps have been turned on, and need to turn them off again!  I'm all organised for Christmas, though I need to finish wrapping and still have fresh food to buy.  I didn't quite make everything being done by December!  We have been out and about a fair bit though which has been nice, but spendy.

I'm on countdown to the Christmas holidays, and worked out that I'm only working 9 days in January 😁

I've passed some deadlines for a lot of high pressured work, so I'm hoping things will slow down for a bit.  I have written my consultation response and need to submit this week.  The new structures will be finalised in January so although I now have hope, I'm not fully out of the woods until that is confirmed.

Hope everyone got through the storms ok at the weekend, it was quite wild here.  We unfortunately lost half of our magnolia (there were two branches and one snapped off) and the van cover has been shredded, so DH has ordered a new one.

The kids and I have been to the dentist and all is well but that was still over £100.

I ordered myself a big bundle of SW cook books.  They worked out less than £2 each even allowing for postage.  I'm hoping with a bit of down time over Christmas and January I can try and get myself organised.  Once they arrive I'll be able to have a good look through, and then I can at least resell any that don't appeal. I need some inspiration!
