Well done on clearing the sofa debt before having to pay interest (and on earning interest on the £ in between)."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -
Pressure on the boiler was down again this morning so I topped it up and phoned up the company. They booked a visit for tomorrow. Just after I got off the phone, DH found a leak on the front room radiator. So I called them back and they said that's probably the issue and I need to get in touch with someone local, so I cancelled that appointment, and got in touch with the plumber who did our bathrooom and he is going to come out on Tuesday and have a look. I think the water had been seeping into the dog bed so that's why I didn't notice it before. Poor dog! Her bed is now in the wash.
I'm glad it's not the boiler, but equally it means we'll now have to pay the bill as the boiler would have been covered under guarantee. Also it's good to know that it is registered on the system as I can't find evidence of the guarantee here! I did pull out all my paperwork this morning so that's a good excuse to go through and declutter that.
Annoyingly I STILL can't find my opticians prescription. I must have another bag of stuff dumped somewhere."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee8 -
I have hopefully turned off that radiator now. We just had a little pot under there to catch the drip but DH went out this afternoon and I came in to find the pot overflowing, so it's clearly dripping more than we thought. At least it's not as cold as it was back along, and the rest are still working.
I'm getting antsy about going back tomorrow. After almost 2 years of uncertainty, we should see the final structures later this week. It will be nice to have a bit of certainty and understanding of what things will look like. The fun isn't yet over though as next will be job evaluation. Happy days.
A quiet afternoon otherwise, just pottering around and reading."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee8 -

Just caught up, what good news that it wasn't your boiler and an easier fix. I've just had a new boiler and mine was leaking almost immediately, it was awful. Thankfully my plumber came back and got intouch with the boiler people, they came out a couple of days later and replaced a part and touch wood it has been okay.
Your PAD are amazing, I'm still doing my round ups, and it's surprising how quickly it mounts up.
I've been through my wardrobe and there's nothing much I can sell. I had a good clear out a couple of years ago and sold loads on Vinted. All of my clothes are from Charity Shops, I never buy new, and there's nothing much I don't wear or could sell. I'll just keep rounding up
Hope work goes okay later this week.4 -

It is amazing how those small amounts add up isn't it.
I don't sell clothes, I wear them to death generally. The school has a clothing bank which raises funds for the school so I drop off everything there. I often buy second hand, but don't buy clothes for me too often."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Back to work with a bang today, endless phone calls and meetings! Nothing like easing back in gently
Most of the DDs came out today, it's always nice once they've gone out and I know most of the bills are paid.
I think today is the first day in at least a month, and probably more like two that I haven't put the heating on at some point during the day! I think it's meant to get colder again later in the week so doubt it will last. I still had my hot water bottle of course"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
