Happy Friday!
It's been a very hectic week. The good news is I finally have the confirmation about my job. That's a huge relief (until the next time 🙄). I'm in a better position than many colleagues who still have to go through ringfence interviews and still have uncertainty about who they are working with.
The plumber came and sorted out the radiator leak, so that's a relief too. It's very cold here again and we've had some sleety rain today.
The kids have been out of sorts with cough/cold/headache this week, so some disturbed nights, but both seem to be vastly improved today so that's good. Little miss isn't doing any after school clubs next half term, so I'll have to think about what I want to do about childcare as it's a struggle doing afternoon pick up every day whilst juggling work.
I got my renewal for broadband/tv/phone and got on the phone and have managed to knock £25 a month off whilst keeping everything we've currently got (including netflix and now tv. I probably could have gone harder and got more, but I'm very happy with that for now! I want to do the water meter next but I keep putting it off.
I was very disappointed to see that there are scratches on my new windscreen again! DH picked me up some new wiper blades today and is going to have a go at polishing them out. They are so fine, it's only visible at certain angles when the sun is low, so probably grit or something on the wiper blades. I definitely don't want it to get worse again!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Wonderful news about your job!
With Little Miss, could you do a childcare share with another parent to save you one early pick up a week? Don't know if that's possible but just throwing it out there.
It's so cold isn't it?! I was at the football last night and couldn't stop shivering! Glad you have your radiator sorted in time for the cold snap.My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |
