Happy Friday and payday! I've done the money shuffles.
February is an expensive month with lots of birthdays, so glad it's a short one! Little jwil has informed me what he wants to do for his birthday and it's not a cheap option. Will discuss with DH.
I filled up my car this morning and will try not to use too much before we go away. That's incentive for making sure we walk in the mornings. Little miss presented me with her damaged school shoes this morning, so we'll need to replace them this weekend.
I've really enjoyed my time off this month, and it's reinforced my desire for slowing down. I've very much managed to turn off the spendy taps from the end of last year and almost going to the other extreme of not wanting to spend anything at all. I need to balance it properly so that I don't feel bad about spending on birthday days out etc! The kids are only young once and I'm sure it won't be too many years before little jwil won't want to do anything with us!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I sorted through my clothes today and took two more bags to school this afternoon after checking this morning that the bank had been emptied. I also had a quick look through little jwil's drawers and pulled out everything that is too small.
The boiler seems to be de-pressurising rapidly. I went round and bled some of the radiators today with a screwdriver, but we'll need to get a radiator key this weekend so I can do the rest before I get in touch with the company if that doesn't resolve it. I topped it up this morning and it's almost in the red again now."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Hope the boiler behaves after you manage to bleed the other radiators. Well done on having some you time/days off this month. I know what you mean about feeling like u never want to spend again. You become much more aware don't you of how quickly it all goes out.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Tracking my spending has made me so much more aware of how much I'm spending, particularly on school things. I don't want the kids to miss out though so it's fine."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Happy February! We're getting ever closer to spring! Our primroses have seeded again, so we have some popping up in the cracks in the patio. We've also had roses out for a month or so which is a bit bizarre. I see we've got at least one daffodil coming up in some bulbs that I thought had gone over as they haven't flowered at all for a couple of years. It would be nice to see the temperatures up in double figures again.
I had a good nights sleep last night so am feeling good this morning. I asked DH to check his euromillions ticket in case we were the missing £83m people, but sadly not"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Went out and got the school shoes, cooking ingredients for little jwil for next week, the radiator key and a few other bits. We got a new extension lead for the computer as our old one is starting to show its age.
Came home and boiler pressure was zero. We've now bled all the radiators and topped it up again, but I assume something else is going on as none of the radiators really needed bleeding. I'll see what it's like tomorrow and then phone it in. Hopefully whatever it is will be covered under warranty.
DH has found a few more bits to declutter but we've not done much otherwise today. I found I could get a French language magazine from the library on Borrowbox so I've subscribed to that which should help me practice"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". How frustrating on the boiler. Definitely call the fitter - that sounds really bad. I thought you'd replaced it last year?
