So sorry to hear that there is further uncertainty about your job.NeverendingDMP said:Also feeling the cold. Heating has been on constant here for three days and the house still hasn't made it past 18 degrees (thermostat is set to 19.5) . All in dressing gowns at moment and big oodies as despite the shocking numbers on our smart meter we aren't that warm either. Hope you are both okay @jwil and @beanielou as the forecasts and temps aren't fantastic are they.
Sorry to hear more worry at work. The not knowing and constant changing of the story makes it so much harder to deal with and just adds the pressure on. Glad you managed to have a sit and a read for a while
The constant uncertainty is horrible.Sun_Addict said:Another one sick of winter and the cold, I’m definitely a summer person 🥶
I’m sorry to hear about the uncertainty at work rearing its head so soon into the new year. I was hoping you’d have some breathing space for a while.
I was hoping it would be a smooth run until we found out the final structures. That's going to be next month now.LzzyIsGod said:Another vote for Roll on Spring.
Sorry to read of your pants day especially the work stuff. Some work places seem to forget that there are real people affected by their decisions and there's nothing more stressful than uncertainty and the unknown."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I was in such a downer yesterday I just huffed off to bed at 6.20pm! Reading and watching stuff on my ipad.
I have been watching Cross on Prime which I am enjoying. I like the Alex Cross books.
We've been out to the repair cafe today so the hoover is now fixed! Just the cost of the plug and a donation. DH was quite impressed so he went back with an old tshirt of his which he loves but was full of holes. They've done a great job fixing it! It's a brilliant idea and well worth a visit if you've got one near you.
I'm still cold today, and CBA so going to sit with a book and a hot water bottle this afternoon, and maybe watch something later."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee8 -

A nice quiet day today, it's made a change not having to go anywhere! I've updated all my financials and the spending tracker.
DH has been a busy bee, touching up the paintwork on the ceiling in the bathroom, and he's had a bit of a sorting/decluttering fest. All good newsHe's moved some stuff which meant I could improve the placement of my rug out the back - a small thing but makes a difference to how it looks and feels!
My final two ebay items have paid so they've been packed and posted.
We had a nice roast at lunch using up some more of the cheap Christmas veg. We've got enough meat left for another day as well so that's good.
It's still cold today but hasn't felt quite as bad as recently, so hopefully it will start getting a bit milder soon.
I'm off tomorrow and Tuesday so hopefully can have a better day than Friday."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -

A much better day off today than Friday
I've just pottered around, done a bit of sorting and tidying. I took another bag of clothes and shoes to the clothing bank at school. My trainers have gone through on the sole and the toe, but I've pulled out a couple of pairs that I have had but don't wear, so I will use those rather than replacing them.
Walked to school this morning so got some exercise. Did some visiting this afternoon. It's still cold here but not icy any more thankfully."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -
Glad to hear you've had a better day today. And sounds like things are going well on the sales front, every bit helps doesn't it.
Oh I love going to bed with the hot water bottle and a book! I've just read one by Michael Robotham - "Close your eyes" it was really good. Not read anything by him before and I really enjoyed it. I shall be scouring the charity shops to see if I can find anymore!
I've just sat and worked out my financials too, feel a bit better now I've done that. Just need to wait for payday now to put it into action!
Have a lovely evening x
