A nice PAD today due to cashing out on surveys. I must keep up with them better as it's very satisfying having extra to send over.
I am a bit of a numpty though - I went to make ratatouille yesterday, so started chopping the veg, went to get the courgette, chopped it and realised that the two I have left are actually cucumbers not courgettes! 🤦♀️😄 Seriously, they look like mini marrows! But that makes life much easier as we all eat cucumbers. I did enjoy the courgette fritters the other day though, and even DH liked them as well.
Yesterday was a good MSE day. I got notification from the water company that they are refunding us almost £500 from the delay in installing the meter! I thought the surplus would be used as a credit, but I'll very happily take a refundI don't yet know what our new monthly payments will be but that is on the way apparently.
I also got confirmation that my bank switch was completed and that £200 will be winging itself my way soon.
I know I could do some very worthy and honourable things with this money, but in reality I think I'm just going to use it to have a nice time over the summer holidays. We can use it to help cover school uniform etc, but also just go on some nice days out. We've had a lot of worry over the last year and it will make a nice change just to relax and do some different things. We had little miss's report yesterday and it was amazing. They have both done us proud this year so it will be nice to properly treat them."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". My £200 from the switch has arrived, and I couldn't resist paying some to my CC, so I have a lovely PAD today
The rest will be saved for the holidays.
DH had spotted that I'd been looking at caravan breaks and agreed that it would be nice to get away for a few days on the week we have off together if we can. It's a lot for a few days, so we can just as easily do some day trips from here.
My first period of time off after today, I'm not back until Wednesday. Little jwil finishes today, little miss tomorrow. We have our first day out planned on Saturday, meeting up with friends and returning to a place where the kids have been on a school trip but DH and I have never been. The kids really enjoyed it, and it seems quite reasonably priced compared to a lot of attractions.
The scales are showing a 2lb gain which is making me grumpy, but I'm sticking to plan. I'm hoping it's just hormonal and will go again in a few days time."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Don't be grumpy just keep going. When I start it takes a good few weeks before I see any change then all of a sudden I will drop quite a bit. I am hoping that is happening now as the pounds are not shifting at all!

I'm off now until Wednesday, hurrah! I'll only be working two days next week which is another bonus. I have loads to do so blocked out some time in my diary before I logged off in the hope that I don't return to a day filled with meetings.
Little jwil has finished now, and just little miss to go tomorrow. I had a peek at the clothing bank at school and it's not full, so I have asked the kids to have a look through their clothes and put anything out that doesn't fit, is tatty or they don't want, and I'll do mine. I've asked DH if he's got anything as well. Then hopefully I can take a load of stuff tomorrow, and the school will get the funds."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". The 2lb could be water retention, have you been drinking enough water? I know this sounds a contradiction in terms 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2
