cant help you with the courgettes, they are my least fav vegetable !I very very rarely eat courgette. No one else will, so I have 4 to get though myself!
teapot2 said:Well done with your weight loss, very encouraging. There are some good recipes for courgette soup if you googley though you might feel its too hot for soup, I'm of the opinion its never too hot for soup and had some for lunch. Courgette cake is also good but thats probably not in your current food plan. I like them cut into thick batons and then griddled or else sautéed with some garlic.rachmac3 said:https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2017/jul/29/courgette-recipes-cobbler-marinated-with-freekeh-pasta-yotam-ottolenghi
I've also done a simpler salad version of the pasta recipe, without the pasta and with olives (basically courgette ribbons with lemon, pepper, a tiny bit of olive oil and some olives, sometimes a sprinkling of Parmesan)Newstartforme said:A big well done to you Jwill , that's amazing , that must be a huge incentive for you going forward xYes, it definitely keeps me going.
redofromstart said:Courgette fritters can be on plan and you can do lots of variety in your flavourings - example here. The courgette curry on g00d f00d is popular.
It is quite liberating to NOT have grown any this year, I am not keen and find they make excellent compost and are perfect for making the neighbours avoid you as you wave spare produce at them.
Everyone seems to grow them, so I thought I was the only person in the world who just wasnt' very interesteditsthelittlethings said:My sister had a glut of courgettes a few years ago and believe it or not, steamed courgettes are nice. Just cut them into rounds about an inch thick and steam them until tender. I really like them like this and they are very healthy if you are that way inclined.Wanna_Bee_Free said:Well done on your weight loss! I am not keen on courgettes but like them in this soup as you can hardly taste the wretched things!! https://my-veggie-soup.livejournal.com/1714.html"If you can dream it, you can do it". There is a school of thought that says a hot meal on a hot day actually helps you to cool down2

Thanks everyone
That's a great variety which I can try which won't make me think I'm eating nothing but courgette all week! Maybe I'll grow to love them
I ordered some shorts yesterday and they've arrived today. I won't be wearing them out and about as I carry much of my weight in my thighs and the world is not ready for that yet, but at least I can wear them around the house and be a bit cooler. It gets a bit much wearing trousers all the time, and I'm not really a dress/skirt person."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney3 -

I was up before 6 this morning, so sat by the back doors in my usual spot. It felt lovely and cool there, not for long though!
A quiet day planned today. I've got the bedding in the wash as it should dry quickly and there's a risk of showers in the week. I'm wearing my new shorts and so feel much cooler too.
I'm cooking at lunchtime, and sausages planned, so I will attempt the courgette fritters to have with mine. I was going to go out and get some more fruit and veg, but actually bothered to look at what I had and figured I do have enough to last the next couple of days, so I will save myself a trip and some money!
I got an offer from audible for 99p a month for 3 months, so I'm going to sign up to that as it will cover the period when the next Strike book is released, so that will be a bargain. I'll also probably get the latest Hunger Games book as well.
We've finally done DH's loss of notice request. Not sure he'll get anything as he went straight into work, but at least we'll have tried."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney5
