Well done you for keeping focused on the end goal.
Thank youbeanielou said:Good news on the redundancy payment. Are you going to send any to the mortgage?
No, it's just going into DH's savings. It will be kept until needed - e.g. car, work on the house etc, or even until retirement as DH doesn't have huge pension provision."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Little miss is definitely growng up, she came out with a huge pile of badges last night, we were expecting two! I'll sew them on her sash and we'll keep that, "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Thank goodness it's Thursday. I'm looking forward to the weekend.
I finished a bit earlier today and have managed to tidy round and do some listing for DH, so I don't have that hanging over me this weekend! We must do his pay claim though.
I've managed to resist comfort eating all week, so I am very pleased with myself. I have had a non scale victory in that my watch identified that my resting heart rate has reduced over the last couple of weeks, in line with me eating better. Hopefully that's a sign that eating well and doing more exercise is paying off. My average step count is up this year, and my exercise minutes are up too. I did do my blood pressure the other day too and one of the numbers has dropped slightly, though I'd need to do more readings to know if that was a longer term result."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Well done. Comfort eating is a failing of mine too.jwil said:

Your health stats are good news!
You've inspired me. I have eaten lots of crisps and chocolate lately and putting on weight as a result
I have a BP monitor in the cupboard that I need to start using.
As you have noticed, exercise is the key

Good luck with reducing the crisps and chocolate - I am sure that is what has made the biggest difference to me. I do have a magnum in the evening though which I look forward to and is a delight in this hot weather!
Because I am big, I'm sure it will be a good couple of stone before I start seeing any real physical changes, so it's nice to see that my metrics are improving, even in just a couple of weeks of eating better, although I've been making more of an effort to be more active throughout this year overall."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
