Means nothing and the only reason it is (misleadingly) passing itself off as a 'reminder' is because there was a windscreen PCN!Chestbrah said:I can assure you I have thoroughly read through the letter in its entirety trying to find the date of issue for the letter. Only dates printed on the letter are date of contravention and date of issue which are both the same date.
Same on the back of the letter, only date mentioned is the date of parking.
See attached with personal details blocked.

You could not make it up!
They haven't made a mistake: this rubbish is normal for Smart. How is someone supposed to calculate the 28 day period to appeal if there's no (correct) date of issue?!
Just wait for the reply. This is amusing. You'll never pay so it doesn't matter.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

First debt collection letter received today, supposedly this is the 4th letter they’ve sent to me!
Awaiting response from appeal, confirmation they received my appeal was given at least.0 -
Think they get 35 days to respond to an appeal. Sometimes they don't reply so do chase it up. Check it's not in your spam folder.1

Response received as per the attached. I haven’t been able to find a template response for this? 0 -
Put in a complaint now, and tell them that you will report them to the BPA for not allowing a keeper to appeal on receipt of the Notice to Keeper (which apparently followed a windscreen PCN). And that NTK had no date of issue on it, so the 28 days to appeal could only be taken from the date it arrived, which was DATE. Therefore, the appeal was easily in time, counting from the date of service of a NTK with no issue date on it. A cynical person might conclude that Smart has removed the date of issue, so they can lie to people that they are too late to appeal.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Should I attach a photo of the letter received clearly showing no date of issue to the complaint?0

With regards to this, if they now just state that I missed the 28 day period, what would be the next course of action?Coupon-mad said:Depends if you have appealed within 28 days, and we hope you used the template in the NEWBIES thread and you DIDN'T appeal as driver?I’m looking to complete my first house purchase in March/April and I’m just wary of this becoming a bigger issue or a debt collection search showing up on my report.0
