  • Ohhhh myyyy goodnesssss!

I weighed myself this morning. I knew it wasn’t going to be pretty as I have felt heavier recently and my clothes have been feeling snug, but I was shocked at what the scales said! I wanted to cry 😂 I’ve gained about 11 pounds since my holiday to Turkey in the summer! That’s shocking! I didn’t like my weight when I went to Turkey but it’s obviously even worse now 😬

To be honest, this is quite typical for me. When I’m happy, I eat 😂 And when I’m sad and heartbroken I don’t eat. I’d rather be happy obviously but I need to get a grip before it spirals out of control. I haven’t been this heavy since I was pregnant with DD2 over 10 years ago 🙈

I still can’t find my Fitbit so I’ve bought a new one and have just set it up. OH was saying about us getting healthy together when I move in but I’m not waiting that long! I need to do something now 😬 I know it’s so cliche to start in January but I find January mentally challenging anyway so it’ll give me something to focus on. I want to lose at least 2 stone. I’ve given a target date of my birthday which is in just over 4 months time.

OH cooked me & DSD dinner last night which was chicken burgers & chips. He said because he grilled the chicken & put some lettuce in the burger it was a healthy meal 😂 hahaha.

Today is pay day thankfully! The girls are with their dad until about 6pm and then he’ll be dropping them off. In the meantime I’ll be working. I’m just staying in tonight with OH and the girls. We will miss DSD as she’ll be with her mum but we have got her again tomorrow when we go furniture shopping 😊

    Enjoy the NYE celebrations! 🎉🥂
  • I can relate on the weight front!  I broke my ankle 6 weeks ago and I feel like I can literally see my belly getting bigger  2 stone in 4 months is definitely doable, just got to watch what you eat, just remember you cant out train a bad diet. You got this  B)

Absolutely. I heard that exercise only accounts for 20% of weightloss, or something, so food has the bigger impact. Despite a trip to IKEA with OH and all 3 girls today I’ve only done 4,000 steps, so that’s disappointing, though I was good when we had lunch there. I just had a salad 😇

Happy new year to you all! Last night OH and my 2 girlies just stayed in. We watched the Barbie movie 😁

Ikea wasn’t a success really. We were going for bedroom furniture for the girls but I didn’t see anything I liked. To be honest I’ve never really been a fan of Ikea. I don’t know why people love it so much 😂 We went back to OH’s house afterwards and the girls played on the PlayStation. Then I needed to go to the supermarket. Thankfully it was very quiet.

The girls are in bed now & I’ll be doing the same soon as I’m sleepy. OH is working tonight but it’s double pay, plus he gets a day off in lieu, so he’s happy to go in. He’s hoping for a 15-hour shift 😂💷💷

    Night all x

OH got a 14 hour shift in the end… he did well 😂

I didn’t have the best day at work today, but I went to my parents’ house afterwards which cheered me up. It was hard to turn down my mum’s cooking but I’m on a diet and her food is just too fattening 😂😂 haha. DD2 had been there for the afternoon with my little nephew. DD1 was at her friend’s house. My dad goes back to Saudi Arabia tomorrow so I now won’t see him for 2-3 months 😭

I took DD2 to her dad’s house after spending some time with her, my nephew and my parents, and then went home to wait for OH to wake up so I could see him. I only stayed at his for just over an hour as he needed to get ready for work. I popped in to see my friend next-door while I was there as it’s her birthday this weekend, so got her a little pressie & a card 😊 I also pre warned her about the garage conversion as it starts in 3 days and it’s going to be noisy 😬

DD1 has found a bed she likes in Argos so I’ll get that ordered soon, as well as a mattress 😊 Then it’ll just be a desk & a wardrobe to find. Easier said than done… she’s fussy 😂

I’m just watching The Traitors and then I’ll go to sleep. I woke up at 4am and couldn’t get back to sleep so I’m TIREDDD 😴

I’ve now ordered DD1’s bed. It will be delivered on 20th January 😊 I decided to use the £40 gift card that I got from work for Christmas towards it, so including delivery it cost me £211.95 which isn’t too bad.

It’s been a busy day! And cold, very cold 🥶 This morning while OH was still working I went to the butchers, and then the supermarket, and then the petrol station. My car is now full of fuel and my fridge & cupboards are full of food 😁 It’s always a nice feeling when everything is restocked.

I had some lunch after I’d unpacked the food shopping and then OH picked me up on his way home from work. We looked around a new gym that’s just opened on the estate. I thought it may be better than the gym we’re currently at as it’s closer, and it opens at 6am so I could go before work (our current gym doesn’t open until 6:30am), however the new gym was a lot smaller than we expected and it’s more expensive. So we decided to not sign up.

We then went to Schuh to exchange a pair of Timberlands I l’d bought OH for Christmas which are a bit small for him. OH couldn’t see anything he liked so they gave him a gift card. We then went back to mine and had some dinner. I did a creamy salmon pasta dish and it was yummy. I only had a small portion though in an attempt to keep the calories down 😁

OH reckons his pay will be big next week due to all the overtime he’s done. It’ll definitely be handy, as we’re both spending a lot at the moment to get the house ready. He’s told me he’ll give me some money if I’m struggling ☺️ Bless him. I should be able to manage but I’ll be so happy when the sale on my flat has been complete, and we’ve remortgaged on his house, cleared all debts, and can start budgeting our joint finances together 😊

OH left to go home to bed shortly after dinner as he hadn’t slept since yesterday due to work, and shortly afterwards the girls were dropped off. We’re going to watch The Masked Singer now… a nice cheesy Saturday night show 😁😁🧀

It’s been a very chilled Sunday. Me & the girls didn’t do much this morning, just a bit of cleaning & tidying. OH came round this afternoon for dinner. I did a roast. The meat was so nice - I can definitely taste the difference between supermarket meat and meat from the butchers. He didn’t stay late as he needed to help his brother with his dishwasher as it wasn’t smelling too healthy apparently, and then they both went to OH’s house to prepare for the garage conversion, which starts tomorrow 😬 I can’t wait for it to be done!

Well, the garage conversion didn’t get off to a good start. We need a new garage door (one that rolls up) and the guy who measured up had messed up massively. We had a choice of either a garage door that didn’t look symmetrical, as one side will be recessed, or they had to get another one made up, and the wall’s being built today. OH told them to make another one up. Thankfully the builder can carry on, so it shouldn’t disrupt anything, but it caused OH a lot of stress. Then to top it off he lost his car key 🤯 Luckily he has a spare one, so he was still able to get to work last night. I’m sure it’ll turn up.

He came round to mine afterwards looking so defeated. Poor thing. I’d done some pulled pork in the slow cooker so we had dinner and then after a while he went back to his house for a few hours sleep before his night shift.

I was meant to be going to body pump tonight but OH got stressed out yesterday over the state of his house as a lot of the garage stuff is in there now and I think he just got overwhelmed, so I’ve cancelled it and will go round there after work to help him tidy up a bit.

I’ve lost 2lbs since NYE 😊 I got a food shopping delivery yesterday and my fridge is almost too full 🤣 but everything is healthy and it’ll keep us going for a while.

It’s my first day in the office today since Monday 22nd December. I can’t say I’m looking forward to it, especially as it’s currently -5 here 🥶❄️ That air con in the office had better be off today 🤣 The girls go back to school aswell today. They are with their dad until tomorrow evening but I’ll check in with them later x

The garage conversion is about halfway done 😊 It’s going well, though I think OH is just about ready to put the bikes, lawnmowers etc back in what’s left of the actual garage 🤣 I feel for him. It can’t be nice having such a messy house. But it’ll soon be done! The new wardrobes are being installed on 26th January, which will take about 3 days, and then the girls and I can move in! OH and I don’t have the kids on 31st Jan weekend, plus OH is off work, so that’ll be when I move in 🥰 eeeeeek!

I've contacted a couple of surveyors to come out and do a market valuation for the Help To Buy scheme. I didn’t want to do it too early as the valuations only last 90 days, and selling a leasehold property takes longer than that usually, but it’s been almost 8 weeks since I accepted my buyer’s offer so I think I’m safe to go ahead 🙂 Will hopefully get someone out soon.

I’ve got £11.61 from TopCashback winging its way to my account, plus £5.00 from my NatWest Rewards account. I bought some milk, bananas and maple syrup today but that’s it.

I sold DD1’s old coat on Vinted for £10.00 so will get that packaged up and sent out as soon as this weather stops being so awful 🥶 I have a feeling the girls’ schools will close tomorrow as there are weather warnings out and it’s currently snowing. I know people love the snow but I am not one of them 🤣

Off to watch the traitors with the cherubs x

I’ve been awake since 4am and can’t get back to sleep so I thought I’d pop on here!

The garage conversion work started up again yesterday. The new doorway in the living room has been built 🙂 We had to get a new one because the wall in the hallway wasn’t big enough to accommodate a door into the garage/DSD’s new bedroom as it was. The garage also now has a nice big window 😊 We’ve decided we will give DSD the radiator that is currently in OH’s bedroom and we will have a vertical radiator. OH has got a carpet man coming round today to price up. The guy did my carpets over 8 years ago when I moved into my flat and he was really good, plus was reasonably priced, so hopefully OH likes him and books him in.

I had to cancel the mattress order as they couldn’t change the delivery date, delivery address, or recycle my old mattresses, due to them coming from a 3rd party. I don’t have the room to store 2 mattresses, especially a double, so will wait until nearer the time of moving and then will re-order.

Yesterday morning one of my colleagues accidentally hit my car in the car park. I felt so bad for her as she only started with us last week and she was mortified. Bless her. I tried to reassure her as best as I could. I’m working from home today as I have the Help To Buy surveyor coming over so OH is going to drive to mine & then take my car to a couple of garages to get quotes. Not ideal but these things happen and at least no-one was hurt.

After work I went out for a very cheap meal with a couple of colleagues which was nice. We try and catch up every 2-3 months because quite often we’re all too busy to catch up in the office.

Today I need to call Sky and tell them I’m moving so I don’t need their broadband services for much longer, and then tonight I’ve got a body pump class. I’ve lost 4lbs since the start of the year which is good but I need to up my exercise game! My Fitbit keeps calling me out 🤣
