Despite IE 7.0 there are still lots of occasions when a new window opens i.e. not just a new tab. Also, when first accessing the net, the very first window opens at the smaller size.0 -
I put up the same question a while ago, but never got a solution. Damn thing didn't used to do it, and I've no idea what I might have changed.
I have a feeling that the problem started when I clicked on the X to close a window when the window was at the smaller size. But I'm not totally sure about that.0 -

So have you tried re-sizing the window and then closing with Ctrl and the X in the corner. This should work with all windows e.g. Notepad. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

Yes I have - that's what I was trying to say up above. Apparently it also doesn't work for Loobysaver.
What I haven't tried is CTRL and clicking on X while the window is still at the smaller size.
I'll try out both options a few times and see if anything happens.0 -
Have you got an IE shortcut on your desktop? If so, right click on it, go to Properties, then shortcut tab, then check what it says in the Run box. It may say Minimized, in which case change it to Normal or Maximised. This may help?0

Hiya, I've just checked mine and it is already on "normal".0 -

Is your problem just with IE? Can you change the size that a new Notepad windows opens, using the Ctrl + Close X method? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

I tried the Ctrl and close X and it doesn't do anything. If I then open the link/window again it just goes back to being small. I've also tried manually resizing and doing CTRL and close X too. Doesn't do anything either

This should work with any window. Did you try as I suggested in my last post re-sizing a Notepad window using the Ctrl + Close X method? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
