Cleared my list from yesterday (go me!) but did not get out in the garden. I also told everyone I met about the expensive detours! I even got my Charity return submitted, just 12 days before the deadline! I just need to devise an invoice for the land lease fee for this year, so I can bank it in the building society before the end of the year.

You know your husband's not HP (100%) when he does things like this! Mr Sl was meant to go to one apiary and simply remove two queen excluders that he should have removed last week. Instead, he went off to a different apiary (under a stop notice and removed the feeders that were required to stay there) then on to the right apiary, potentially spreading diseases from the one he went to first. 😲 So for the rest of the afternoon and evening I made him clean that kit meticulously. Honestly, I despair!

I am waiting for it to get lighter this morning, so I can run the TD for 20 minutes using solar! I think it is wishful thinking! Just checked the forecast and it is light rain all day. Many of my tasks are indoor today, but I am desperate to get the onion sets in.

Right, tomatoes, gifted apples and honey to get sorted this morning!

Showers here too today so I've moved my planned big garden session to Thursday, which currently looks like the only dry day. After I've dealt with the weekly ironing frog, I've decided to have a day indoors, moving a few things on, getting organised, doing a bit of planning, etc. I very much need to do this so the rain has helped in a way. Our garlic & shallots don't get planted until Samhain so you haven't lost the chance.

Sounds like Mr SL not back to firing on all cylinders yet. The lergy has struck at Mr F's work so he is applying hand sanitiser at every opportunity & trying to remember to stand well back from people.

2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

Showers here too - but - it is just so dark. 8.30 am and I still need the lights on!

Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

There's definitely a lot of nasty infections around at the moment @foxgloves. There's an American Covid in the area (XFD or Stratus), although I'm not convinced it is any worse than a standard cold and flu Covid. You are right though. Mr Sl hasn't been the same since his major health thing last year when he came home with compression pneumonia after the ileum was left crushing his lungs for so long, and any minor infections seem to remind his body of that and be rather worse than these things were before that episode (from which he is largely recovered).

Ouch to detours and ferry woes - and you know we can certainly sympathise about those! Oddly enough we have actually travelled on Glen Sannox as she is currently the Western Isles resilience vessel, meaning that she was offering an alternative service on the inter-island route between North Uist and Harris when we were up there. we went for an "out and back" trip just for fun, because it's a rarely available route from Lochmaddy to Tarbert, and because she is a new vessel we hadn't been on before. I can confirm that she is very smart indeed! MV Alfred appears to be quite an interesting beast - is it still operating with vehicles having to turn on the car deck?

It is. It feels like you are in part of the Brighton Pavilion, turning under the pillars!
