Thanks for all the positive comments. I think, in all honesty, the adrenaline left the building yesterday and I had no energy, and felt dreadfully tired and lethargic. Absolutely no brain space for anything. I must stir myself into action and do some of the outstanding things I just do not get around to, or everything will become too much, what with spring and exams just next month!
To today. I have got some minced beef out of the freezer. I was a little concerned about the chicken yesterday. This morning's dishwasher evidence was that Mr Sl cooked it with a lid on, so that explains it. No crispy skin as he essentially steamed it. I gave all the skin and a lot of the meat to the dog, who had no such problems. This morning, my body got me up before the alarm which tunes to the radio at 05.50, so I think I made the right decision! I will make a ragu and (sacrilege) the leftover lamb chops might go the way of the chicken. I am a little concerned that the small "beer fridge"- fridge freezer, in the small toolshed, is just not maintaining its temperature. I opened the freezer door and there was water behind the door seal. I shall investigate further, and maybe have a shuffle of contents. I may do something else with a bag of frozen fruit from in there too. And get a bag of chopped courgettes out to make soup. I certainly need to remove the joint of beef we are havng on Sunday.
Money is staying in my purse as much as possible this month, and my beekeeping kit shopping list is short, in readiness for my visit to the beekeeping show with my study buddy on Saturday week. I will be trying not to buy too much "stuff"(!! - who am I kidding!)
Mr Sl reckons he has almost enough in the house account (the one our Son lives in) to fund the work to the truck. We are taking it to the specialist tomorrow. Fingers crossed it is not terminal. He loves that truck.
Today it is study, lots of studying. Enjoy your day, and thank you everyone who has sent good wishes. Sincerely, it means more than I can say

Not surprised that you're suffering the effects of an adrenaline surge and drop - you've had quite the few days haven't you! Be kind to yourself - maybe time for a priority list - tackle what is on the top, then rest for a while, before repeating!

Yes, I agree with @EH. Sometimes we just need to take a very s-l-o-w couple of days to allow our minds to process things while the physical adrenelin stuff calms down. An ideal time for soup - easy to digest, simple & nourishing. Take care now,

Good to hear that the hospital appointment went as well as it could and it is not as urgent as it initially appeared 🤗
Look after yourself especially while dealing with the aftermath of the adrenaline surge.

Gosh, thanks for the support. A couple of days immersed in watching the Winter Olympics has recharged me. We also took the truck to the other side of the country to get it properly cleaned underneath (rust, more than mud) so we can determine how much structural weakness needs welding.
We came home and found a wedding invitation for the exact same day that we are taking in a friend's dog to look after her for a week, while they go skiing. It might be that we get our dog sitter to have both dogs for the evening and can both go, or just one of us goes while the other dog-sits. The other factor is that I will be driving home from SW Scotland that day, having committed to visiting my Mum. We have chatted it through and I have declined the invitation. Oh well
Turning to today, I have a piece of beef defrosted ready to roast and having got up at 06.00, I listened to Martin's podcast on the radio while emptying the DW, arranging damp washing on the front of the aga, and prepping veg for today. YP ready mixed (from scratch) in the fridge. I now know when to expect DS&P. I also cooked some rhubarb from the freezer in the toolshed, yesterday. That one my next defrosting target.
Right, time to message my Mum and get on with a few things. Have a good Sunday!

Study buddy due here at ten but time for a quick update on yesterday
The Solar installers' chosen person arrived at lunchtime (I overcooked, but did not quite burn the sourdough loaf that was in the oven - actually, it was crusty and lovely as a beef sandwich) - no text as promised, and parked opposite the refuse collection cart, blocking their access to the bin they were trying to empty. It certainly slowed the traffic down. He tried to say that splicing the cable to AC twice between the panel and the inverter was OK - I said it was not, should have been buried or in conduit and did not match what the survey said. It seemed clear that the survey was not thorough and he admitted they use sub-contractors. I am expecting some concessions from their head office as the battery to inverter set up was wrong, and he "suggested" we had not had enough battery capacity installed. I responded that if they checked every piece of correspondence and conversation I had with them before the install, that the exact same point was made by me. He was obviously not the the decision maker so I didn't give him too hard a time.
Then the people looking at Mr Sl's truck contacted us as the rust is clearly structural in two places, having got it up on the ramp and prepared. I suspect the farmyard muck had been washed off on the drive to Oxford last Friday, in the rain and road spray, making the rust a bit more obvious.. We must see how the actual removal goes. Whatever they do will make it more obvious, not worse, just exposing the "honesty" or otherwise, of the vehicle.
In food news, I have two small steaks out of the freezer for today, and soup is there for lunch.
My neighbour coming around 3.30pm with a fundraising idea and our small refurb (village Hall) group met last night and notes (by me) have been shared this morning. Things are crawling forwards. Oh, and no money spent yesterday but I need to later today as it is my cousin's birthday - she is local, but a drive away.
Right, time to get a wiggle on - I might pop back later
