Next steps; grip-relaxing bimbling, and avoiding the temptations

Gosh, suspected evil weevil is something I only had once - they chomped their way through all the roots of treasured plants with the first insight being them suddenly collapsing. We used a nematode treatment and the bonfire to eradicate them, and it was not at this house, it was at our first home together, in SE Essex.
Well yesterday did not go as planned. My cousin turned up with her three year old grandson to drop off a card and a small gift off for me as she is working today, and then DS & P came round with a bouquet of flowers and a card. Again, a day early because of work. Mr Sl has been secreting things around the house, cards as far as I can tell. I don't feel very celebratory to be honest, but maybe that's my age! We will have a low fat home cooked stir-fry for our meal. I bought a piece of fillet steak when I went to M&S and we will share that. I am making sure Mr Sl's diet is helping to strengthen his blood, while having something I know we will both enjoy.
It was also only 7C yesterday and really chilly unless you were behind glass, in the sunshine and out of the wind. So that is where I stayed.
Having ordered and paid for a delivery of fencing material for our village amenity, it now emerges that the reimbursement may take some time as the new treasurer still has no access to the online account, and the old one can no longer access it. She has a week or two to sort it out nut I am understandably keen to be paid before my CC payment is taken. It also emerged that the new cleaner has left the toilets with no hand towels or toilet paper. I was alerted on Saturday when a function for 60 people was underway and someone texted me. I told them where they were and they stocked up.
Then yesterday, while the chaps were removing the hedging, the dance group that use the hall on a Monday arrived. He told them the door was unlocked so that they could use the toilets and the woman said, I hope they are better than we have experienced with no toilet paper or hand towels in the Ladies for the last two weeks! I can't believe that literally nobody has mentioned this for two weeks. The hall has been used by multiple groups. Unbelievable. I stocked up the toilet paper store-cupboard with the remaining pack of 12 I had kept at home (when there were lots, they were being pilfered!!) into the cupboard but there were 8-10 rolls still there. I think this is the same as when the contract was changed.
I need to delve further as to why there was none. I suspect it may have been omitted from the cleaner's job spec and possibly, access to the locked cupboard via a combination lock has not been shared with the new cleaners. Since the Trustee who recruited them has been incapacitated and recently had surgery, nobody has checked up on the quality of service being provided. I doubt anyone else would have given it a thought, and I don't have the cleaner's details to deal direct with her, despite asking for them, on a number of occasions.
I also have to do a few slides for Thursday evening's meeting. The person I was coordinating it with has sort of taken it over and I am mostly content with this. It was my suggestion we do it between us, but he is definitely used to being in charge, if you know what I mean. He's a freemason - I admire the community contribution but I can't be doing with the little cadre of men who sort things out between them with no wider (female) involvement. It's not the first time someone has assumed I will act as their PA... anyway, he is committed to something else on Thursday so I am the last minute stand in. Speaking of which, I need to get my act together!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £2664.85 out of £6000 after March (44.41%)
