As you have moved battery have you also tried a reset via the mobo jumper?

The MoBo instruction leaflet - implies an "optional hole" on rear panel

Guess what - no hole !

It maybe marked as JBAT1 it will be 3 prongs (123) with a jumper stored either  on prongs 12 or 23.  When computer is powered off move the jumper to the other set of prongs  so if 12 move it to 23, this clears the CMOS by shorting it. Once done return it to original position then boot up PC.
As you already removed battery it well might not work, but worth trying just in case.

I haven't bought anything for a good few years, my 12 year old computer still does what I want it to do, so will leave others for opinion what's good and gives VFM.

If I was to order the GMK mini PC @£498.18 - It appears to come from US - Is there going to be import duty on it ?

I understand that they are available via Amazon.co.uk – but they are hugely more expensive (£819.24) compared to the price that I would pay direct (£498.18). Also the Amazon version only has 32Gb RAM and a 1Tb SSD – compared to 64Gb RAM and 2Tb SSD if I purchase direct.

Should be fairly rapid ?

Looks like they lie about the cost so duty is lower but there will be fees to pay, how much depends on the price declared.
