Having a quick look at the mesh systems. Not being too techie i'm a little confused!400ixl said:Plusnet come out better in the customer satisfaction surveys than Now but little in it. I'd personally choose them (and have renewed with them on a 12 month contract which works out cheaper then the 24 month one when you renew back to the lower cost and avoid too much of the annual increase).
Never had any issue with the Plusnet Smarthub 2, but have had a mesh network for some time in its place. Mine is also a TP-Link Deco but the X70 series. Buying one now I would look at the Wifi 7 capable.
Can you simply plug it in to the B/B providers router as some stuff I've read suggests replacing the provided router and I'm not confident doing that.0 -
I've used a TP Deco system too.You plug one unit into the router and it then connects to the others by creating a WiFi network. Best to turn the router's WiFi off so you don' have two competing systems. Easily done by logging in to the router via a browser.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid1

I plug mine directly into the openreach ONT box and then that's it - you don't need the providers router at all. You log into it with your password provided by the ISP in the app settings and it just works 👍 I think Plusnet have step by step guide to help you.Ivegotaquestion2 said:

It depends on what you have and want to do.
I am on FTTC still, so mine is a modem / router and completely replaces the ISP's router. On FTTP you can plug it into the Openreach ONT box and again throw away the ISP's router.
The other way is to plug the main unit into the ISP's router, but this is a less optimal way to do it.1 -
Yes I’m on FTTC as well. So I have an open reach master socket, would I need a certain type of mesh system to negate the use of any provided router or simply plug it into the provided one. Bearing in mind my maximum download speed is just 20mbs400ixl said:It depends on what you have and want to do.

Wellit's gotten interesting. Both Now and Plusnet websites use a postcode address checker that does not give my correct address. There is no way of editing it myself and both give a phone number to call.
The Now one gos to a generic Sky sales department somewhere in deepest India I suspect. I could not understand the operative most of the time. I'm not sure she understood the address problem. I'm not sure she knew what Now broadband is. I don't thing she believed the £22pm price I had on my screen. She kept asking me about how many devices I have and what sports package I wanted. I gave up so shan't be bothering Now (Sky) again.
Over at Plusnet the operative was a lovely sounding lady who did indeed realise the address problem and confirmed it was wrong by popping my postcode in her checker. She then asked me to hold on a second while she checked something out. About 6 or 7 minutes of silence elapsed so I gave there as well!0 -
A little impatient to only wait 6-7 minutes tbh. Plusnet have very good customer service but they are not going to know how to resolve the complex issues right away, especially if they haven't done it before.Ivegotaquestion2 said:Wellit's gotten interesting. Be more patient, put your phone on speaker and do something else until she comes back0 -
We live rurally with a max of 2Mbps so we use 'Airband' wisp service and get 40 Mbps - not sure if that's an option for you?Ivegotaquestion2 said:Live in a rural area with maximum 20 mbs download speed.

So I phoned them up waited 15 minutes on hold with music. After around 20 minutes of conversation and questions they cannot resolve the issue and will not offer me broadband through either Plusnet or EE !housebuyer143 said:
