Look at the signage on Google streetview.

It's impossible for the consumer not to accept the contract. It's like a phone app where the two buttons say "accept" or "accept".        - nowhere to stop, read, and consider (double red lines)

    Thanks that's great!

I'd read that on another thread and thought the same. It's similar at many airports where they operate from what I can see. You can't stop. I'll add to my notes.

Here’s the background: Received a PCN from Vehicle Control Services - which gave a reason for issue as  "46) STOPPING IN A ZONE WHERE STOPPING IS PROHIBITED.” Unfortunately I hadn't found this forum at that point so I appealed. I didn't identify myself as the driver but mentioned why I halted in the road which they then took to mean I was driving. I also appealed to IAS which as this forum confirms is a waste of time - it was.
Long story short..paid for parking, exited car park and went the wrong way. Realised and turned round at the Hilton, made a momentary halt to check which way to go (didn't exit the car, didn't turn off the engine, didn't park) as I moved off I got my sleeve stuck on the arm rest and had to free it - couldn't obviously drive while it was stuck as that would have been unsafe. Entire issue lasted around 15 seconds (which is what VCS got on their camera!). VCS claimed I "stopped for an unreasonable amount of time”  and told me I should have "used the 24-hour helpline telephone number that is clearly displayed on all VCS signage for motorists experiencing difficulty"
Interesting as to use a phone while driving is illegal – perhaps they were encouraging me to park in the road?
They also used site photographs to support their claim that were over two years old!

Show us the POC please, like you see on all other DCB Legal claim threads. Read half a dozen first. Only recent ones from 2025.

Almost no help needed!  Literally a copy & paste job plus some wording about the above as 3.1, after the standard para 3 that your reading will reveal to you.

    POC
    1) The defendant is indebted to the claimant for parking charges issued to xxxx at Bristol Airport
    2) The PCNs were issued on xxx
The defendant is pursued as the driver of the vehicle for breach of the terms on the signs (the contract) Reason 46: stopping in A zone where stopping is prohibited
    4) In the alternative the defendant is pusued as the keeper pursuant to the POFA 2012 schedule 4
    and the claimaing claims
*£170 being the total of the PCNs and damages
*Interest at a rate of 8% pa pursuant to s69 of the Country Courts Act 1984 from the date hereof at a daily rate of £.03 until judgment or sooner payment
    *Costs and court fees

This is interesting as the original basis of claim they sent me in October stated claim was being brought as 'the vehicle was parked on private land' and all other correspondence has stated 'parked' not stopping

OK so use the usual DCB Legal defence para 3 seen on ALL current threads, then add a 3.1. Cribbed from another VCS Airport defence.

Morning all, Hope everyone is well.
Wondering if anyone has any advice on how to proceed here? I cannot get into the case file on MCOL. Tried everything including contacting their helpdesk and calling the CNBC - both of which produced nothing other the CNBC sending me email forms to  fill in. I am completeing those  - emailed the AOS and had NO RESPONSE- I've followed up as I can see on many threads that people can wait for a while to get a response from AOS but I'm on deadline tomorrow so a tad concerned.

That all said, has anyone got any advice on what you do if you can't see your case on MCOL and how to get any info on what DCBL are doing? I've searched the forum but can't find much on this other than call CNBC which I've done.

You can only deal with the CNBC help desk tomorrow morning if you have problems, by phone, early doors,  we cannot help with that side and they are not open at the weekend

You should have had an email auto response from the CNBC if you emailed the AOS to the AOS email address shown in the first post in the defence template thread,  so check that address was used  in your sent folder,  then check your inbox and also your spam folder for the email auto response they sent back. Usually people miss it because its in their spam folder

There is no need to be dealing with or worrying about dcb legal,  just the CNBC in Northampton,  nobody else

When is your deadline for your defence   ?

To get into MCOL,  you must login to your free government gateway account first,  then navigate to MCOL and use the claim reference and password to get in

    Thanks for the response @Gr1pr
yes, I know re CNBC - their helpline is a particularly lengthy wait time, but I'll call tomorrow.
and, yes, I'm aware of MCOL login procedure but cannot get in and am wondering if the password from DCBL is wrong? It worked originally but now enters a result of 'not recognised'. Technology is great some times!! and we know how good DCBL are!
Also checked for the emails in Spam etc. I did get an auto response from AOS from my follow up today but nothing previously. The deadline is the concern. If the AOS hasn't been 'acknowledged/accepted' (whatever the proper term is?).Then my 14 days is up tomorrow. I'm prepping my defence today just in case.
