Awwww - thank-you my dear forum friends for all your well wishes! We are wedded & have the rings and paperwork to prove it!
As I am the queen of practicality, and stoic to a fault, OH was rather pleased when I started weeping while he was saying his vows! TBH I was puzzled, but then again who knows what has been bottled up these past few months and had bubbled to the surface!
Great fun was had with our two witnesses and two friends who joined us for the occaision. We had several drinks at French wine bar and then a 4 course meal at the attached bistro! OH took off his jacket after the cermony and his waistcoat less than 5 minutes into dinner! I suffered hours in a formal, season appropriate dress with heals no less, and am more than happy to be back in jeans today!
Now shall we get practical? Being married means we get a tax break right? He can pass me his tax credits or something like that? We have a medical appointment in 10 minutes and then I shall spend my second 24 hours as a married person trying to figure out what I can do about lowering my taxes!!! Very MSE 😂😂😂4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! A pity this no longer applies. I am talking around 50 years ago when a woman became another person on marrying. So 2 personal allowances. I think that was why so many got married in September (as I did). Even in the early 90s a husband was responsible for his wifes tax & would get charged if their total went into the next tax bracket. People don't realise how recent any semblance of equality really is.4

Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3
