@Cherryfudge - thanks for the well wishes for OH - he did indeed get through his 5 day series of treatment and came out slightly worse for wear at the other end.  2 days of downtime then got him rested enough for us to do a 4 hours round trip to his cousin's funeral on Thursday.  It was very poignant, knowing that it may well be the last time he sees many of them & we were all really glad to be together as a family.  I've been working part days for the past 2 weeks, spending the other 1/2 day on caring duty and also getting some rest & sleep myself!

@Merlin's_Beard - I'm not great at the rest part, but have been forcing myself to rest as much as possible so eschewing social outings in favour of pj's and a duvet!

So my Weekly Planning List is a day late, but my excuse is I had a whirlwind day preparing for some friends to 'drop-by' for cake and tea/coffee yesterday evening!  They know me well and I had a 48 hr warning 😉  So not only did I do a clean for visitors, I also baked a cake & as I could not find either my bundt pan or my springform, it turned into a tray-bake and resembled a pan of brownies!

✅ bathroom floor scrubbed & painted walls scrubbed
✅ kitchen counters & cupboard doors scrubbed (gave floor a miss - it was good enough)
✅ chocolate cake made (traybake in the end)
✅ pack OH's bag for Thursday's appointment - on to the next round
🔱 ❗pack our bags for 2 days away (Tues & Weds)
🔱 ❗steam formal wear  for both of us for Tues and hang up in closet
✅ remind everyone to wear a Poppy on their lapel for Tuesday!
✅ managed to put some colour on my roots and witches streaks - I'm not talented enough to leave them out so they have been coloured with the rest!
✅ hair trimmed and deadends gone
✅ home facial & mask - I have discovered the joys of prickly pear oil!!!
🔱 nails & hands prepped for polish - just have to choose a colour!
✅ full pedicure done by my neighbours' daughter who it turns out has a mini-spa in a summer house in their backyard! - sure beats the thai sweat-shop in the middle of town!
🔱 still on the hunt for ballerina wedges that fit for everyday use! - in the meantime, I've resurrected some shoe boots - sturdy but a bit of a heal for the cooler weather (honestly how hard is it to find decent flat shoes

🔆 my long awaited specialist medical appointment is today - 8 months - this better be good!
🔆 OH starts next round of treatment on Thursday
⏳ 🔱 ❗my dermatologist referral - have docs names - now need to book appt - insurance has authorized! - sigh - have to have this done in the city as decent onces in my area are scarce as hen's teeth!!!!!
⏳🔆 follow-up on OT recommendations for work assessment - this can wait a bit, while the Cerberus is focussed on other things!
⏳ follow-up on private eye specialist for myself

What a good idea to work part days at present. I'm glad you both managed to go to the funeral and speak to family.

Your to-do list puts mine to shame. If I don't catch up on your diary again before Thursday, all the best for your DH's next round of treatment.

Dearest Forum Friends,

Please hold us in your thoughts and prayers tomorrow, November 11th at 4pm.

After nearly twenty years together, we have chosen to marry in a small, personal ceremony with two friends as our witnesses. It will be quiet, meaningful, and very much in keeping with who we are.

The decision to formalise things now has been shaped, in part, by OH's recent diagnosis. His time with us is limited, and while the road ahead is uncertain, our love and commitment remain steady.
