(Aha, just looked it up - it's more straightforward than I thought!!) Urgh, poor you 😕2

You WFH today rt? And boo to a week that hasn't even the common courtesy for the H E double-hockey sticks to be played on ice - so that it glides on quickly and resets at the end of play.
Sending virtual hugs.

@KajiKita - well not drama persay, but OH had two medical procedures today - we set out at 9:20 and got back at 2:30 so a long morning - at least our local taxi service has a flat rate to the main hospital - but 30gbp each way is eyewatering, when it only costs a couple of quid in petrol when OH does the driving - thank goodness for the Macmillan Nurse who has set OH up with Attendance Allowance to help out with the extra costs of being ill in the 'wilds' of England
@Cheery_Daff - love, you do make me giggle! I should have written Hotel-Echo-Lima-Lima - but the Canadian in me came out as it is wont to do when I'm tired 🤣 you can take the girl out of Canada but can't take Canada out of the girl!
@Greying_Pilgrim - I was work from hospital waiting room today - so not WFH but WFHWR - very uncomfortable and a very poor signal given how old that part of the building is and how thick the walls were. I didn't get a lot done tbh as I needed to be on a secure network (vpn) and could not use the hospital wi-fi for most of it. Instead I spent part of the morning looking for a clutch handbag for our occasion next month - turns out once I'd image searched the designer stuff, there are more affordable look-a-likes on the big river site. While I don't mind paying for quality goods that I will use every single day, for a one-of-occasion, it's cheap and cheerful or borrowed as I'm probably not going to use it again & will end up giving it away.
So this week was full of medical admin (my second job) and a horrible meeting with my manager and HR (my first job) in which I made my point and stood up for myself to the shock of her-who-must-be obeyed. I also quoted law and very clearly stated that if pushed any further I'd be obtaining legal representation. I've had a quiet nod from HR who is on-side. I think I've said it before Ableism is rife in this world and it's more insidious than all the other -isms put together, especially when it's an underlying, unconscious bias that one is loathe to admit. I've also had a couple of minor seizures (due to the stress) which does not help my fatigue!
So what am I thankful for in all this turmoil?
1) That AI has been very useful in helping me keep it together both professionally and personally! It's like having an assistant to take care of keeping track to free up brain space
2) That my sweet OH told my Mom in no uncertain tems how wonderful I was in keeping it all together & that she would do well to applaud rather than give me the usual maternal guilt-trip grief and add to my stress
3) That I have many friends, though spread far and wide, 'imaginary' & in RL, who have rallied round to support me/us in ways to numerous to count! From sending my favorite medicinal French Pastilles, calling at the wrong time because it's a 5-hour difference, messaging genuine words of support or showing up on the doorstep with flowers and the well-meaning power of prayer. It's been amazing & I genuinely appreciate it all!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
