Just sold some trainers on Vinted for £25 and have got a few more things listed, have done a few more surveys too.

I'm really feeling stressed about this, I can't believe I've let this happen again, and now with my husband being at risk of redundancy I just have to get this debt gone ASAP- but I don't want to tell him about it. He knows I have about £1500 to pay off by the end of the year, but not the other £4k, and I don't want to add to his stress 😞

    Morning all

Another sale on Vinted, £8, so will get both of those parcelled and sent this morning. That's £33 which is 0.6% of my debt - feels so depressing to say that, especially when the two items cost over £100 to start with.

Anyway, needs must. Another NSD yesterday, and just need frozen peas and frozen sweetcorn today, I have £6 M&S vouchers so will check their essentials range and if its not more than it would be elsewhere I'll use them for that.

I've taken a day's holiday today to get on with some freelance work, it's all getting on top of me a bit. Haven't seen my friends for ages because I don't want to go out.

Such good news - I found a piece of rare merchandise from a well known artist that I'd forgotten I had, and had no idea how much to try and sell it for. Listed it on Ebay for £100 yesterday and it's already sold, so I'm now torn between being happy with the money and annoyed I didn't try for more!

Also boxed up some books for Ziffit which will be another £11.

Anyway. Will get those posted and chuck it straight at my CC. That's almost 2% of my debt gone!

    Morning

Paid off the money from yesterday's Ebay sale along with £3 from Vinted. Am now tracking my -'wealth' (such as it is) on an app and have my workplace and personal pensions on there along with my LISA, but have put my loan and CC on there too so I can see the changes daily. Very inspiring to look at.

No plans today, maybe a walk, will need to go and get pizzas for pizza night tonight though - will get from Lidl to start building up the Cpupon Plus again foe the month, plus it's the furthest away so gets my steps up, and I pass Heron to check for bargains too!

    Have happy days all.

    Hello everyone

Won £5 on the lottery last night so that will go straight to the CC when it arrives. Other than that, nothing to update.

I have to get out of this situation as it is eating me up. I feel really sad, all of the time, and don't want to go out and do anything that costs money as it feels like such a waste. My two closest friends are worse off than me, in that they are both single parents and paying off mortgages etc, so o don't even feel like I can talk to them about how I'm feeling as it just seems pathetic to say "oh I'm £5k in debt and can have it paid off by the end of the year if I really try" but I'm so worried about DHs job and this just being the straw that will break the camels back.

I feel like I'm constantly refreshing survey pages etc, checking if I can send any offers on Ebay etc, and it's really really getting me down. I'm starting to even struggle to leave the house at all as I don't feel like I have anything to talk about apart from this.

I'm sorry you are feeling so worried about your debt. You are tackling your debt and if you had not started to take action, the debt might have increased but instead it is going down and it will decrease further this month too.

If the worst does happen, there will be support and advice from this forum and you will get through it so try not to worry too much (I know this is easier said than done) and do what you can. Every step forwards, no matter how small, is a step in the right direction. .

As you feel you are starting to struggle to leave the house, could you perhaps go for a walk today - it is a lovely sunny day with me and I find being outside getting some exercise does help. I hope you start to feel better soon.

    Morning all

Just worked out I have paid off £277.42 since making my usual monthly payments on 28 January! This means my Barclaycard will go down under £3k on February payday.

I won't make that kind of progress again before that date as have sold a few big ticket items, but happier than I have been with my progress.

I have a freelance payment due before the end of March, and have booked in a further small job which will pay in June, so that will all go to debt as well. Hoping to get a small pay increase in April too.

    Just want it gone!

I've just read through your diary @lilian1977 and you are doing so well with the sales and how much you've cleared since October and the extra in January alone!

I think you need to cut yourself some slack though, you keep beating yourself up about the debt and how much you spent on things compared to how much you are selling them for.  Don't say 'it's only 0.6% gone' say 'it's another 0.6% gone, and cheer yourself on for making progress.

My DH never knew the extent of my debt either, and I know how lonely that can be.  I also understand completely the redundancy worries.  I found my diaries on here super useful for just getting it all off my chest when I didn't have anyone to talk to - whether people posted or not.  Reading other diaries is great for inspiration and knowing that you are not alone.

You need to allow yourself to go out though.  Spend time with your family and friends.  It doesn't need to be expensive.  It will be a long year otherwise.  There's plenty of ways to be entertained at low cost or free, it might not be the same as what you normally do but a change is as good as a rest!

Thank you so much for reading and replying @jwil, it's made me well up!

I'm feeling a little better about everything at the moment, I think I was in a state of panic about the worst case scenario. However, I've worked out that with a couple of freelance payments that I'm due over the next few months, I should be able to pay everything off by December at the very latest, and that's without any extra payments from sales and surveys. I'm averaging £1 a day from Curious Cat, and am also doing the Fiver Friday and 1p savings challenge, so if I persist with those too I should be able to get everything sorted by late Autumn.

Thank you again, it means a lot.
