Justcrackingonwithit said:Good morning, I’ve been a long time lurker on the forum and have just joined and started my diary. We sound pretty similar, I’m used to living quite frugally, and love to travel, but it’s the one off spends that catch me out. I’ve heard of monzo, but don’t know much about it. I’ve not got separate pots as such, but have my main account a savings account and an odds and ends account….might look into monzo.Anyway, just wanted to say you are doing great, here to cheer you on. Have a lovely weekend x
Definitely recommend Monzo, you can split into pots so it helps you budget a little better. I have loads of accounts already for different things like DDs, holidays, Christmas, school stuff, train fare, emergency fund etc so the Monzo one is just for my 'fun' money and food. I'll head over to your diary now, good luck 👍
Morning all! I have been up since 6am and done a few surveys on Curious Cat, so will withdraw that and do my PAD with it. Only about £1.30 but all helps.
Big Christmas food shop today! Will use my £6 off £40 at Tesco and then get the veg from Aldi for 8p. I'd like to get all DSs gifts wrapped this weekend too.
Meals are:
YS pastries this morning (worked out 10p each) with coffee
Lunch: probably some HM vegetable and bean soup with YS bread.
Tea: frozen pizzas and HM chips with corn on the cob - will buy the pizzas as part of the £40 Tesco shop as I honestly think we'll struggle to hit it otherwise!
Same tomorrow, but fish and chips instead of pizza.

Hi all
Had a very restful day yesterday, got the majority of the Xmas food bought but still need to buy a chicken joint and the veg. Waiting for a £5 gift card for T3sco to arrive from Mistplay.
PAD £1.02 from an EBay sale.
Going to check out the YS today around 2.30pm, hoping for a chicken joint that can be frozen till the big day!

Was working all day yesterday so no nap! Then my (almost 14 year old!) DS couldn't sleep, so I was up until 2.30am! 🥱 He then got up at 8am so still shattered, but had a lovely morning open gifts and now he's in the bath and I'm waiting to use his water 🤣
Hope everyone has lovely days - Merry Christmas all!My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

Merry Christmas @lilian1977 hope you have a lovely day. My sleep is awful too, I've been given some magnesium cream for my feet, that's supposed to do the trick......I'll keep you posted! x1

Merry Christmas to you too.
I have some magnesium spray but keep forgetting to use it. Will put it on my bedside table for tonight.
PAD £11.50 from Vinted onto my Barclaycard. Looking forward to updating my total when I get paid on 28 January, although that feels like such a long time away!
Had a lovely day yesterday, played board games and ate nice food, then good TV in the evening. Planning a similar day today, although might pop to the local football.
Back in the office tomorrow but train ticket is already paid for, and will take lunch from home.

Just fixed my toaster! Wouldn't pop up fully but I managed to dislodge the mechanism that was stopping it. DH already ordered a replacement but thankfully collect in store so can just cancel the order rather than doing a postal return.
