Well done on your loss and your stone award @winterbear95. Delighted for you. 👏👏👏

Good luck for tomorrow @bubbs. I'm looking forward to fake KFC later in the week now we've got a working oven. 😋👍

We had a disappointing meal today @joedenise. It was in one of the supposedly top hotels in Winchester and, like you, we'd have to better off in Wetherspoons. 🤣 You should see the photos in their Christmas brochure. They look amazing but definitely not what we were served up. ☹️

Plus side was there was so little of it, there wouldn't have been many syns! 🤣 I had a SW breakfast and have snacked on a packet of chicken tikka pieces. Oh I forgot the wine syns. 😉

Out again tomorrow night so we'll see if that's any better. 🤔
  • Sorry to hear about disappointing meals out. I hate that, such a waste of calories not to mention £!

Well done on your stone award winterbear95!!! That’s brilliant!

Joedenise, the shawarma is here https://www.thelazygeniuscollective.com/blog/shawarma but I only used 1 tbsp oil between four people not the amount suggested. Oh and I used the spices I had so no allspice or cardamom and I skipped the sugar. It was just as nice as when I’ve made it with all the oil and sugar, in fact Red commented it had gone crispier in the air fryer rather than being oily and was nicer!

On plan today but will be off plan tomorrow 😆

B - cheese & red onion toastie with nectarine & grapes (HEA and HEB)

L - tuna pasta with red onion & sweetcorn topped with cheddar (HEA, 1 syn for LTL mayo)

D - really good Spanish chicken thing (sort of a stew with tomatoes, peppers, red onion, spinach, spices etc) with yellow rice and all totally FREE.

    S - 1/2 advent choc (1) and 35ml baileys (5.5) which I enjoyed very very much!

    HEA x2 - 60g cheddar
HEB - 2 small wholemeal bread slices
Syns - 7.5 total - LTL mayo, advent choc, baileys

Morning all, another grey day here but have managed to get a load of washing out on the line eventually!  Had to take DH to the emergency doctor this morning as he keeps getting giddy and this morning nearly fell over getting out of bed.  His BP was a bit high but the GP didn't think it was high enough to worry about but says the giddiness is vertigo so yet another lot of tablets to take!  Hope they work quickly so that I don't need to drive Monday and Tuesday next week - both journeys are longer than I like to drive!  Monday taking my friend to hospital for an eye appointment, at a hospital I've never been to before so going to have to get the sat nav out for that one and Tuesday driving down to DD1's inlaws house to park prior to our trip to Brugges.

Anyway only got back from the Drs about half hour ago so currently cooking our brunch and we'll end up having our main meal this evening but probably a bit earlier than usual.

Well done @winterbear95 on your l stone away - it's lovely to get that certificate and shiny to stick on your book.

Bet you're glad you'll be doing your final orders today @bubbs and can start thinking about Christmas preps for yourself.

Shame you had a disappointing meal too @maman.  At least we didn't have to pay for our actual meal which would have made it even more disappointing.  Hopefully tonight's meal will be better and you can enjoy it.  Maybe we should get together next year and go to Spoons, LOL!

Thanks for the link to the Shwarma recipe @Bluegreen143.  Looks pretty simple and variable too.  I actually have all the necessary spices so think that may well end up on the menu plan at some point!

    So today's plan:

    B - fry up - P; S; F; 1
    D - cottage pie, veg - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - none planned
    Syns - none planned

    Have a good day everyone.

🤞🏼 the medication does the trick @joedenise and that Joe is fighting fit ASAP.

It's almost inevitable that SW will be disrupted at this time of the year @Bluegreen143 but having as many SW friendly meals as possible in between does help. It's so easy to just say s*d it and lapse back into old ways.🤣

I'm out dancing tonight with supper included. At the same dance last year, we had a beef casserole and then a buffet of puddings with a decent range of choices including fruit salad. Who knows what it will be tonight though?🤔

Anyhow, I've done my best so far with a fry up for breakfast and tuna jacket for lunch. I'll be driving so tonight will be alcohol free.

Lap top out this aft, so will attempt the first post in ages.  Not doing at all well re: SW.
I had a health blip c3 weeks ago, basically a "funny turn"  Have been O.K. since and think I worked out the causes, but was quite worried for a few days. After that picked up a horrid heavy cold type virus which I am still struggling with, DOH (who is normally the healthy one) has been really poorly for a few days and we are still coughing and spluttering with no energy. Cancelled my only non-family lunch out too sadly.

We will not over eat or drink very much over Christmas, intending picking up the threads between then and start of the New Year, I will almost certainly be signing up again with SW, I think consultant mentioned some type of reduced commitment on line last week to get the numbers up again, she is giving up one of her days, but replacements are lined up.

No idea yet what we will be eating as OH just not been pinned down on preferences yet :/

  • Hi everyone. I meant to post on Thursday however, time just disappeared and here I am 3 days later.
Thursday saw me weigh in with a fabulous 1.5lb loss. I was absolutely thrilled by that and it has put me 1/2lb away from the bottom of target range but I fear it has gone the other way now. Seasonal get togethers, alcohol, meals out and Christmas goodies are sneaking in. Work is swamped with tasty little morsels that patients have brought in and my will power is dwindling by the day.
Today we have no plans as such and are having a feta and bacon salad for lunch with jacket spuds and bitsa this evening.
I intend to have a really good push until Friday and see if I can salvage myself. Only one engagement this week where I know I can be the driver and choose wisely. After that, for the best part of two weeks, we will be having no control over menu apart from Christmas dinner (and I will thoroughly enjoy that)
I will endeavour to report in after my Thursday weigh in. Thank goodness for target range, I’m going to be up near the top in January.
    Take care everyone x
