My sisters do that too Yorkshirelass. Usually it is because they are going somewhere they know I can't afford. Like Hawaii (and local restaurants too). I hear about it a couple of weeks or months later. It hurts sometimes.5

Morning all xx
Hugs to YL xx Ask them why. I'd need to be knowing. Then you can either talk it through and put it right or cross them off your Christmas card list.
And to weenancy xx Tell them you'd like to decide for yourself if you can afford it or not. And how much it hurts finding out afterwards.
But don't take any notice of me. You know your family better than I do. And I'm a hermit. And conflict avoidant. But if something hurts and is niggling away at my psyche I will ask the question / address the issue.
BIG hugs xx
I'm up. Before 7am again. Because my brain still thinks that's nearly 8 am. Stoopid clock changing. I've made my bed, completed Wordle in five, completed Connections with no lives lost, and completed NYT Strands. First brew has been savoured.
Natty I've PMd you. In case you are like me and don't check the inbox very often.
Babs had me choosing which of her three outfits she should wear for the wedding. Which was very girlie and nice. Until she said that she was doing it as she didn't want to outshine me on the day!!!! 🤣 She won't. I didn't comment; I mentally picked up the gauntlet and thought 'Bring it on' 😊. She doesn't know me very well. 🤣🤣
Brew 2 is required. Then I'll come up with a list.
Love to all.
Rxx

Oh YL that’s not nice
had a lazy day yesterday, although I did do some knitting for dementia.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I've tried on my trouser suit with my new underwear and it fits a treat. I'm wearing my sparkly shoes around the house to get used to walking in them. DS has asked me to find a photo of my Mum as there's going to be a table for her and DF's grandad (also deceased) at the Reception. That's made me swallow hard. Found three - hopefully one of them will fit the bill. Mum was like me: loathed having her photo taken.
Practicing sitting at the top table and waving to Babs in the cheap seats. She started it! I'll finish it.
Must remember to practice smiling in the mirror.
I'm now back in my scruffs, apart from the posh shoes. I've fed the birds, put cans of pop in the fridge, and recycled the boxes. Supped 2 brews and 1 coffee. Taken the box of Christmas presents upstairs ... must jot down what I've bought.

Round you make me laugh, when SS got remarried last year, I was walking around the tables looking for our places, (there was no main table plan) nothing on the family table, nothing on the other relations table, found the bride's mother and asked, to be told you are on the top table.
but I'm the step mother, bride's mother reply was well don't worry, the groom's mother is also on the top table and I have to sit next to her, much rather sit next to you!!!! I duly took my place and behaved myself.
Bacis flying done, I've hurt part of my lower back, I think it is holding the weight of the poppy collection pot, I do have 3 of them, but they are each currently weiging about 2.5 kgs each (5.5lbs).OH has been pressed in to being helpful today:-Hoovering doneBins doneCats fedWood brought inFloor sweptCats blankie taken outside and given a good shakeShower walls quirted with descaler / mould reducer.Windows slightly opened.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Love it Valli. Her house looks a lot tidier than mine .... I hope your tummy's better now.*healing vibes* for your back Kaz.Well done MMM. I keep hoping that being a Flylady will result in an improvement in this house ....So sorry about your SiLs YL. Round's comments are sound, but I don't know if I'd have the backbone to follow her suggestions. I think I'd probably just be hurt. Either way, it's mean of them.Wordle in six, Connections with one life lost, took me ages but I eventually got all the Strands. So today was a busy one, which was absolutely not the intention. Made a cake from a mix in the breadmaker, which is something I've been meaning to learn how do for several weeks, sorted out two pans in the oven that I should have dealt with days ago, decluttered another two bags of flingage to the brown bin, prepped some veggies for the airfryer for tonight and figured out how I think I should use it, realised I'm not going to be able to fix my laptop by myself and kickstarted the spare one that has a wonky power connection but does at least work and made sure the dog went out for a pee ahead of sunset because morons are letting off fireworks at random times as soon as it gets dark. Also invited a neighbour in for coffee as she gave us a wedding-type present and we made a date to have lunch on Tuesday at probably my favourite walkable restaurant on Tuesday. As long as I do something to improve the house every day I'm not failing completely, right?Better is good enough.5

Thanks for the advice ladies, DH said just ask them what's going on, otherwise this will just fester. I am quite proud of myself because after the initial hurt I brushed it off. Either there is an explanation, or I will just draw a line under it and focus on people who treat me well.
Beside, I have news, I will be following in Rounds footsteps as DS1 has proposed to his GF and she said yes!!! They both deserve this and it's so lovely to see them happy.
So while GF went to talk to her best friend about weddings DS1 and I did a 7 mile walk through the woods to a rather naice coffee shop in a twee little village where I paid £20 for two sandwiches and two cups of coffee to take out (and remember this is Yorkshire). We left DH at home recovering from his man flu, which is probably a good thing or it would have been £30.
I then called to see the parents before I came home.
Flying has been very minimal, I have made pizza, hoovered and mopped the kitchen floor,, done a load of washing and put it over the airer and sloshed some bleach down the loo. Must try harder.5 -
(((Hugs))) to YL x and weenancy x
Congratulations to your DS and his GF, YL
Practice a proper royal wave for Babs, round - think of something on the lines of the Queen Mum appreciating the bouquet of a good claret, where the elbow remains still, the forearm points upwards and the hand rotates!
That clip made me laugh, ValliI saw something along the same lines (but not musical) on FB the other day and meant to repost it, but I doubt that I should be able to find it now.
After church W came home with me so that I could help her with some more Maths homework. I had to do a small shop on the way home, especially for some bacon, as it's her favourite lunch. Rosie had a good walk through the little covert and up on the three fields before dark, ie before the fireworks started. I cooked tea and we ate it before watching Strictly and AR. And that's about it. I still haven't done the washing that I meant to do yesterday. There's always tomorrow, and anyway 'Monday is washing day! - is everybody happy?'
Will see you on the new thread xxx
