Totally agree @MrsShazbat, the way hotels hike their prices for events is ridiculous, so if you've got to pay extra, get the best you can. I've booked to see a play in Cardiff with some friends and we were going to make a night of it but then found out Oasis are playing the same night. The price of hotels has gone through the roof, so I think we'll be coming straight home. Love the Manics too, we saw them in Cardiff Castle a couple of years ago. Fabulous 😊

Another five pounds this week plus a bit of change. Can't believe it's May! Enjoy the sunshine 🌞

True.  I'm going to Edinburgh overnight in August, to see Rhys Darby solo and also his podcast (announced today so that's today's development) and having very quickly booked that in addition to his comedy gig later the same night, we found out that as well as the Fringe, Oasis are playing Edinburgh at the end of the same week.  So yeah 2 of us are paying a tad through the nose for an overnight stay.  But we're going to have fun!

Hey all, been long time since my last posting... It's exam / assignment season so I've been in dark mode for a while. Still picking up bits and bobs for the pot. I have been slowly reading the commentary but can't keep up right now!

Wishing you all blessed end to your Spring 🌻 and wonderful start to your Summer 😎

Will edit this comment accordingly when on my laptop as forgotten my number right now. 🫠

Hello SPCers! I hope you all enjoyed a very good week with such beautiful weather.
To all those of you who are poorly or low in any way, take very great care and get well soon. Very best wishes from us all here on SPC  3

I'm sure all holidays, hotels etc have upped their prices way too high MrsShazbat, all so say, in the name of CovidIt's shocking, I just hope they're paying the prices as a result.
I'm glad you enjoyed Manic Street Preachers.

That's you and I both scooped up 2p pieces then Ant! I know I also found a 1p too but blowed if I can find it. 😠

Excellent potting of your £132 LMD!!
    An amazing amount.

It certainly pays to come home after the events Siju rather than stay overnight, T and I refuse to pay way over the odds for hotels. They'll price themselves out before long!!

What a really beautiful May its been so far, end of April too, gorgeous!

Hi BeyondDirect981, not too dark a mode after exam/assessment period I hope. Keep on picking up bits and bobs where you can.

Don't worry about keep adding your SPC No every time, as long as its on the end of your signature that's all that matters.
You enjoy the beautiful weather too!

T and I have been to Butlins at Minehead with the entire family (12 of us) since Monday until today and what gorgeous weather we've had too!
We had a wonderful time until Wednesday when T and I saw a few beautiful Orchids on a bank by a narrow roadside. The last thing I remember was T saying was 'for goodness sake be careful'! Too late, my arm upwards in the air I banged down the bank onto the tarmac and didn't think I'd hurt myself too much until next day and by golly my poor ribs, shoulder and part of my back felt as though I'd been in a boxing ring with some bully!! 🥴
Oh dear do I still hurt now, our DD said 'are you sure you haven't broken your ribs?' I hadn't a clue, still haven't, but if I have they'll need to heal themselves.
One good thing is that Exmoor is absolutely gorgeous!
                                                                                                 Sue

Enjoy a truly WONDERFUL WEEKEND, and let's hope the weather's beautiful.

Declaration Day for SPC 0025 is October 23rd.............BEFORE --- BUT NO LATER, please!

If anyone would like to join the thread, please just ask at anytime and you will be made very welcome!

Good run of roadkill. Well done @Madlyn and @Hettyhound

I found a lovely clean pound coin when emptying the washing machine. Not sure if that counts as roadkill but I’ve potted it anyway.

Hope your fall wasn’t too serious Sue
My auntie had a nasty fall end of last week and has a broken wrist as well as black and blue bruising
