KBintheUK said:Hi - totally new to this 1p challenge having received a notification about it today. Seems like a great idea.
I was wondering if I saved 10p per day, could someone give me an indication how much money I would have to save at the end of the month and how much I would have in the pot at the end of the year ?
Sorry about not being able to work it out myself but I`ve always been useless at maths and I`m always second guessing myself.
Thanks very much.
If you do the challenge on here as is laid out you will save £667.95 by the end of the year. 0.01p on 1st January, 0.02p on 2nd January and so on right up until £3.65 on 31st December. Welcome to all new members. Lots of new names here so a reminder please that you only need to post on here requesting to join if you intend to update regularly. Anyone who has not updated by the end of February will be removed from the list. You can save however you wish but the aim is to have £667.95 at the end of the year.

Interesting statistic is according to surveys 46% of people in the UK have less than £1k in savings and 1 in 6 have no savings at all. I know lots use this challenge to save for Christmas as it finishes in December and I know a few of you intended to use the money for holidays (myself included) but it could also be used as a way of kickstarting an emergency savings account for those who do not have any.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Woop!!! Thank you for my number #42. I’ve also decided to save differently this year, so opened up an Atom account and have set up a standing order for the monthly amount of £55.67 starting on Friday.
To increase my chance of sticking with the programme, the new account was set up on a phone I use when travelling overseas. One month down 11 to go 🙏🏿😁The 365 Day 1p Challenge 2025. Member #423 -
