Hello all.
I went to a car boot sale in Sanddown on the Isle of Wight next to which is a small scrap of land. It's not even paved. It's literally just grass. That land has a sign which says no parking bowls club members only. It was a very busy car boot out and probably 20 cars had parked in the bowls club as well. I didn't notice the sign but I went back later and it is there. I didn't know if they also have a camera. And I got a ticket in the mail. (From a company called Civil Enforcement in Liverpool) I followed the advice on here and didn't give the driver details. I complained that it was an unfair ticket, but obviously they rejected that and have offered me 14 days or it goes to popla. I would like your advice please.

Ignore them. No paying. Don't try POPLA as it isn't independent.
Read the 4th then 2nd posts of the NEWBIES thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I read through the complaint letters. There are none even remotely close to where. I parked. They're mostly retail establishments with a few airports/hotels mentioned.
This place is a private members bowls club with its own square of land for parking. Not paved. No parking bays. No ticket machine cos you're not allowed to park there anyway. Its basically a fenced off scrap of land next to the bowling club and a council car park. At a guess I assume members got fed up of people parking there when they wanted to go play bowls because the council car park was full (as i did). I'm unsure what complaint excuse I can write.0 -
I didn't suggest you read that.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You said 4th and 2nd thread. 4th was about making a complaint. It said always do it as often it will get cancelled. I read it then looked at examples. None seemed relevant.0

No that's the 5th post.
Annoyingly, after a supposed improvement, post numbering was lost a few years ago!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

A scam parking ticket is a scam parking ticket where ever it is issued, this was probably a golf club member acting as a self ticketer. You don't need a specific example just like yours why do you think that?Private land is private land, the landowner makes up the rules (theoretically, not in practice), forget if it's tarmac, grass, mud, paved has bays or a ticket machine, what difference does it make? You are dealing with a greedy lazy industry that (unbeknown to land owners apparently) want you to break the rules it makes them money that's all they want.If there was a sign saying no parking there was no offer for you to park, you cannot have entered into a commercial contract with the creditor as there was no offer of anything. Also if there was one sign hidden from sight how could you have known when you arrived?3

I’ve now received a fine of £100. So just keep ignoring it ?0

Fines come from magistrates in a magistrates court, ( shoplifters get fined for stealing ) , nothing to do with private parking company charges like from CEL
Who sent you this new demand ?2 -
Ok maybe I’ve misused the word fine. The parking charge is now £100. They rejected my appeal. Reminder before further action. 14 days to pay (now that’s passed)
just wondering what’s MY next move.
Do I wait for a debt recovery letter (assuming that’s their next move)
thanks

no next move unless court claim/letter before claim
