Haha I wonder when one of those was coming. Now my turn if the results were late (10days) and the GP found something seriously wrong and said if you had your results in 2/3 days we could have saved your life ,does that now make it right (not that did happen ) but it could have )its not a tv ,they was scanning for cancer 😒
That may be the crux and I would somewhat go along with your view if this hypothetical happened.

I assume (hope) that it was all clear - therefore you have received a service albeit not the one you expected and therefore should pay for it. Their offer of a price reduction seems fair given the circumstances.

If you dont pay - expect at very least the data to be deleted
I didn’t receive the service I paid for , And I could have gone to the same hospital same service through the nhs free for the same results which one would you choose?

Private, because when I had an issue that needed an MRI the GP referred to NHS Rheumatology and I was given an appointment in 4.5 months later. Within 3 weeks under private I'd seen a Rheumatologist, had an MRI, spoken about the results with the Rheumatologist and had an ultrasound guided injection all done in the private hospital next door to the NHS one.

So now you're saying you didnt have an MRI at all? Else you did get the service you are paying for, there was just a slight delay.

Anyway, take the advices from your "solicitor" friend, at least you can sue them for bad advice when the clinic get a CCJ against you.

You did receive the service you paid for. You paid for a MRI scan & received that. Sadly what happened afterwards, has nothing to do with not getting the MRI scan.

Why didn’t you go through the NHS then,

What are you hoping to achieve by keeping repeating the same thing over and over.

You have been given the opinion of people on this forum.

You are not going to change these opinions.

Why are you so concerned about getting some body to agree with you when you have  a lawyer advising you?

Move on and buy your lawyer friend a few drinks.

Regardless of whats happened you are not entitled to a free MRI. Have you ever made an admin error?

My point is, I couldn’t get a scan through my GP  fast so I paid myself because I was told 2/3 days rather than going through the nhs ,they have lied about them discovering the mistake ,they have lied about contacting my gp for the email address , I was then sent for a ct scan through the nhs and got the results faster than 10 days  what I should have done is march into my local hospital and demand a mri scan like someone I know on £2020 a month benefits and get it for free
If you think you could march into a hospital (or you friend) and get an MRI just like that you are mistaken and your friend is embellishing the truth.
You could probably get an MRI in the hospital if you had a nasty accident before marching into the hospital.  I’m speaking from personal experience.

Waiting times for appointments vary hugely around the country.  I was referred for a non emergency MRI and I got an appointment in about 2 weeks.

If there is a medical emergency then all bets are off and private often won't deal with such situations.

Times certainly vary and you can always be the lucky person who's referral is looked at immediately after someone just cancelled their appointment for next week. 2 weeks in the private sector is still long time though, at least in London. Have had the misfortune of needing several MRIs in my time and have always been offered a scan within 2 business days of the request, on one occasion was offered a slot in 2 hours.

Whilst the OP states they may have died in the wait the fact it was a GP referral to imaging rather than to a consultant or being told to go to A&E would suggest that the criticality of the matter wasnt high enough for the GP to consider they may die in the wait.
  • The OP is looking for someone to agree with her and nobody is, that says a lot. Now, as if by magic, she now has a solicitor friend who doesn't agree with everyone on here and who is willing to sort it for a few pints. Why then would you feel the need to come to a forum to ask for advice if she already have a solicitor who supposedly knows the answer?  Unfortunately we will never know what really happens but if it were me I'd take the £120 offer gratefully.

    There is no solicitor friend.
That’s why I said it was magic 😂😂
