If we're having an alcohol-free beer we normally have either Peroni Zero or Moretti Zero, both of which are very nice imo. I tried some alcohol-free gin a while ago and, as you say, it was horrible.Today I washed and dried the bedding and later it was collected by the laundry for ironing with the shirts for washing and ironing (it's cheaper if they wash them as well for some reason). Other than that my flying has been just putting on fresh bedding, and washing the dishes.I took A for his flu and covid vaccinations this morning and he seems to have had no ill effects; I plan to have mine next month. After that we looked for a birthday present for his niece's son and found a small chess and draughts set in a posh children's shop at the end of the road and a nice card in our local bookshop. I then filled-up the car, which was running on fumes, and came home and made lunch - quite a productive morning.6

Morning all. Hope you're all ok. Just having first cuppa of the day.
The red wine that DH has since giving up drinking is from tesc0, alcohol free Cabernet Tempranillo.
just one line on connections so far today, I may go back to it. Got wordle in four. Tip for today, remember it's American.
Going to potter and bake this morning. Hopefully Poppet will get a walk but it's raining at the moment. One wash load in machine. DH and I are going to a concert this afternoon.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
Morning all, gloomy here weatherwise, although a brighter day is forecast.
Quite a week on the work front, big, big decision that has been fermenting for a while has been put into writing, I will not be going back in January. Relieved, anxious, guilty, you name it, I have it. But for us as a small family group I have to believe that it is the right decision, whatever it brings.
On with the weekend - I have a half hearted plan to get to the allotment to plant garlic. I also have some bulbs to get into tubs in the garden, so that option may win, looking at the grey sky outside. Wm is on, DH has gone to get his flu jab (mine was cancelled in the week, 20 minutes before the appointment. As I have to pay and travel 25 miles for the privilege, I was not happy with a certain high street chemist - understatement). DD is coming home tomorrow as we are off to the big city on Monday for a hospital appointment. I need to whip the duster around downstairs, maybe followed with a touch of light vacuuming - don’t want to exert myself unnecessarily.
On the alc free beer front, I am a confirmed fan of zero Guinne$$, and I have never liked the full fat version. Still on the lookout for a decent alc free red wine though.Right, wm just finished. I will sort that and have the second cuppa if anyone cares to join me.5 -
and Daisy Daisy has a new nickname… Houdini. *sigh*.. Been in the run and moved the hutch. Fingers crossed.
Got connections with no lives lost. stumped on wordle despite having 3 letters.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Morning all.
Well done on making that big decision, Fayolle. Now enjoy the fact that it's done!
So far today I have
- made an "urgent to do" list
- ordered my meds
- decluttered a number of phonecalls
- decided on one more raffle prize for next week's quiz night
- offered to make mini Christmas cakes for the church sale on 7th Dec
- decluttered some greetings cards that I'm never going to use.
Going to take Rosie out now after I've drunk the coffee DH has just offered me, hopefully while the sun is still shining.
Will catch up later xxx5 -
Connections after losing three lives, Wordle in five thanks to those that mentioned American spellings.Good on you for making the decision Fayolle. I hope you're feeling relieved now you've committed yourself although it often feels a bit like standing on the top diving board and not being sure whether to jump off or carefully make one's way back down again via the ladder. Tom Daley, being a Plymouth lad, is of interest to us and I heard his Desert Island Discs again a few weeks ago. He said he's scared every single time he goes up to the top board so I have to admire him for keeping going for as long as he did. I don't blame him for retiring either. Good luck with whatever you decide to do next.AGM attended this morning. I can't be bothered with them any more so I organised biscuits (single tw!x, 2 finger kitcats and a packet of B!scough, and made all the teas and coffees, emptied the dishwasher for the host organisation and refilled and ran it at the end of the meeting as well as being door monitor for the late-comers. Won a bottle of mulled cider in the raffle, but as I don't drink it I'll have to find someone to give it to. Sorry in advance to that someone.I spent yesterday afternoon trying to figure out where my bank reconciliations had gone wrong from June onwards and found what I thought the culprit was in June, only to then find another anomoly in July and yet another in August. Can't think where my mind was all those months! September balanced this afternoon, at last.Supper prepped because we're eating early and Belovéd is going out later with a friend to something I don't want to do.Belovéd has now said he likes one of the things I've put out to donate so I might have to put it back in the wardrobe. Drat. And I discovered that the wool I really like is no longer made by the company so I've had to buy more than I got rid of to put in to the stash as I really like what I did with it last time and want to make another. So, yesterday's decluttering wasn't a total success. *sigh*Better is good enough.4

Morning All!Only one life lost on Connections to get all four lines, which is most unusual for me. Wordle in six, which is about normal.Today I will be clearing the ironing board of assorted gibble because it's become a real Hot Spot. In order to do that I have to sort out my baking cupboard which is a disaster zone.Better is good enough.5

Yoohooo 👋. Morning all xx
Ooops. I fell down the rabbit hole of life and disappeared for a few days. It was the threat of mind mapping that did it. 🤯. sexymouse - no, not EC, it was actually Fayolle's idea. Thank you Fayolle - if I ever get pen to paper I will put ME in the middle 😊. And thank you Narc0 for your helpful ideas. Gratefully received. I don't know if this is a thing but by plotting the mind map in my head- using the Post It note idea, but in my head, things started to come together. Only thing is I don't know if there's a Post It note missing! 🤔.
So. This week, long story short, I managed to contact someone at my insurance company who (seemed to) know what they were doing and agreed not to cancel my car insurance. I have 14 days from the payout to find a new car not 14 days from the write off letter. So, after a whole shedload of stress I could have done without that's one worry less. I won't be 100% until the payout is received, the hire car is returned, and I have a new ( to me) motor sat on my drive fully insured.
Also this week I had a 'moment' and ordered a fascinator with matching bag, sparkly shoes, and a trouser suit for the wedding. And it fits. I'm planning on visiting M&Ess for a bra fitting before the big day, as a new bra is required to hold my reduced but still big boobs in place. TMI 🤭. So am now looking forward to the wedding 😊
Also this week I determined to tell Babs that I couldn't even think about arranging Pop's 90th birthday bash (4th January) until after the wedding and possibly the car were sorted. And found that she'd 'persuaded ' DB and DSil to arrange it. Another thing less to think about.
With the freed up brain cells I've ordered some presents for Christmas and upcoming birthdays. Pay packet this month should include our payrise backdated to April which will be very handy to pay for the sudden splurge in outgoings.
Flying? Yesterday I had my Saturdailies done by lunchtime. Which proved to be serendipitous as DS arrived just after lunch. His DF was away on her hen do. We had a long chat, he stayed for tea, we watched a bit of telly shouting answers at the screen and he left me to watch Strictly. Lovely to have my boy to myself for an afternoon.
Today I'm up made my bed, completed Wordle in 4, got two lines in Connections and will go back to it to try and fathom out the next two, and supped two brews.
