Landowner cancelled - glad it worked but there should NEVER be double red lines in a retail park because taxis can stop and disabled people may well need picking up.veryangryperson said:I work for uber is to let them know that this isn’t an ordinary vehicle but a private taxi so may be allowed to stop for passengers.

I guess this is in Preston?
Appeal stating that double reds are only used for no-stopping zones which require 'repeater signs' at a prominent angle facing the traffic. At this retail park there are no repeater signs facing the traffic and no offer of parking either.Johnersh said:Well the problem with PPC adopting highway code equivalent signage is that the consumer will assume that restrictions are equivalent unless signs are REALLY clear. They almost certainly won't be, as @Coupon-mad has already suggested.
I suspect the PPC is issuing PCNs willy nilly to all taxis and blue badge holders. As a reminder, the highway code provides thus (my emphasis).Red Route stopping controls
Red lines are used on some roads instead of yellow lines. The double and single red lines used on Red Routes indicate that stopping to park, load/unload or to board and alight from a vehicle (except for a licensed taxi or if you hold a Blue Badge) is prohibited.
As an Uber driver the o/p will have a PCO licence and essentially is permitted to stop for a pick up. A minute or so is not excessive.

I wrote to the owners of the land (British land) and within a few days got this. I owe you a coffee so send over PayPal or something for me to send a little gratitude.
Utterly unacceptable joke of a no stopping zone that has no place in retail parks. Talk about driving shoppers away from high street and in-person retail shopping!

Please can I ask what you sent to the owner of the car park? In the same position albeit not a taxi driver. Thanks0

Please can i also ask what was sent to the landowner and also any email add i can send my complaint to for the Capitol Centre in Preston0

It would be great to see what you sent the Land Owner as I have a Charge from the same retail park its probably too late but worth a try at complaining to Land Owners0

None of you need to know what the complaint said. And none of you have tagged the OP so they'll likely have no idea that any one has suddenly replied on their thread.
Anyway, you don't need to copy. Far better that you all write your own complaints from the heart, which is always far more powerful.
Nobody needs some sort of template to write a complaint ...and please don't use the awful ChatGPT or other American crap that can't write normal English.
...but having said that, what's wrong with just skim reading a few of the hundreds of more recent examples of words people used in Successful Complaints About PPCs?
