Whilst maybe we shouldn't own a lot of stuff in the british museum, where would it be if we didn't. Either destroyed or more likely in private collections & that would be worse.

Back home now! We had an absolutely wonderful day yesterday in Rye. We did a little murder mystery treasure trail around the town in the morning, which was such good fun, and then went on a little pub crawl and for a nice Thai dinner in the evening. It was absolutely glorious! Today, on our way back, we stopped in Hastings for a few hours, which we hadn't really been to before and also enjoyed way more than we thought we would. All in all a really nice long weekend.
I'm going to check into work tomorrow morning and then I'm off to London to record that Radio 4 programme. I'm quite excited actually! It should air on Halloween, I believe. Let's see how it goes.1 -
Enjoy your R4 recording - how fun!
Well done on your £127 MB!
I do casino, MB, Extra places on horses, 2ups, anything with value. You get to a point where the free bets largely stop or bookies will stop you taking more cash off them so thus doing casino offers can delay that process and casino is easily 50% of my profits in recent years,DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

That sounds great @LadyWithAPlan !
R4 recording went well I think, always hard to know how things are going to get edited so I'll reserve judgement until I hear it, haha.
Unfortunately my cold has come back and hit me like a tonne of bricks! I think the adrenaline of going away and then the recording suppressed it somewhat, but last night I just felt completely rotten, and I really didn't sleep all that well. Did a bit of work this morning to not let my team down, but have taken the rest of the day off to hopefully get some proper rest.
In positive news, we've just passed the 20% hurdle on our 'saving for retirement journey, i.e. £186k!
Next milestone: £190k.4 -
So you'll be the one on the radio that's snuffling and sounding bunged-up then 😀!

Still feeling a bit pants today but worked for a good chunk of the day again, mainly because I had an important call which then got moved at short notice - ah well!
Matched betting profit has just hit £250, exciting stuff. I've also been getting some quite good Prolific studies lately, long may they last.2 -
The radio programme aired and I'm actually really happy with it, I got a little nervous after recording but I think it all came together quite well!
If any of you have the burning desire to hear about fear in advertising, it's today's episode of The Bottom Line with Evan Davis.5 -
We went to London (again! XD ) last night to see The Turn of the Screw, the first opera I've watched in my adult life. It was really, really cool. We've seen a few adaptations of the source material (the 1960s horror movie The Innocents, as well as the Netflix series The Haunting of Bly Manor), and this one was quite a different take. Really made me want to see more opera, might just need to find a seat cushion because my bum is not designed for theatre seats XD2
