I have read through your old diaries, the OPS are v impressive but your 6 seller property chain collapsing sounds super stressful.
Look forward to your future OPs.
I am also a YNAB addict and still do MB/casino etc as an extra side hustle.. Do you still do all your side hustles eg your crosstitch etcDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

The cross stitch etsy still ticks along, I just haven't actively done anything on it for a long time so sales are fairly minimal / purely through etsy itself. My plan is to use Fridays as a bit of a money making day, including working on cross stitch patterns, but I also want to pick matched betting and the prolific surveys back up. I basically got a good pay rise a few years ago and completely neglected the side hustles following that, but now that I have a proper goal in sight again is a good time to pick them back up.Having to work last Friday derailed that plan somewhat, but hopefully this week I'll be able to make a good start.

Went to the pub with a couple of colleagues yesterday which was lovely. I ended up chatting for hours with a colleague who I've been working with for years but don't work that closely with, and it was really nice.
I slept kind of terribly though, a couple of drinks are never that good for sleep and I woke up quite stressed. Made it through the day quite well though and did some more exercise (I started a new FIIT programme).
I'm now attempting to make millionaire's shortbread for tonight's bake off. The caramel layer is done and it's setting (hopefully!) in the freezer, with only the chocolate to add before our friends arrive.
On the money front, further stock market increases have pushed our current total to just over £184k. I'm quite good at checking balances all the time while the direction is up, and then stepping away completely during downwards trajectories
I hope you're all having a lovely evening!4 -
Stock markets would be too stressful if you worried too much and kept a close eye on the downturn. So you do well to “keep an eye when it’s going up”. I am terrible on keeping an eye at all. I am laid back with mine such that one day I might find that it has been wiped off completely! I do check from time to time and it all averages out in the long term too.£184k NICE! 👌Initial mortgage bal £487.5k, current £258k, target £243,750(halfway!)

it's just no fun checking when they trend downwards, so I've gotten weirdly good at sticking my head in the sand and not check for months in those times.
