I can report back that it is indeed delicious! Our friends brought some homemade caramel popcorn too though, so I'm now somewhat delirious in a complete sugar coma. I hardly remember what happened in the episode
Multi-millionaire shortbread made me laugh! I feel like I've seen billionaire's with added gold leaf or something pointless like that?6 -
that shortbread looks amazing. I am currently 6 weeks into on the slow carb -6 days a week so allow myself high carb once a week - so I dont feel like I miss anything and stops me mindlessly eating crisps and haribo on a daily basis .. I may bake a GF one next cheat day
I check my investments at the end of each month to add to my tracking NAV on YNAB plus I do Tilly tidy my SIPP so see the values change there,
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I only did a half day today (making up for working Friday last week), and then passed out on the sofa watching Love is Blind after eating more of that shortbread.
I want to use tomorrow to do a bit of work on some cross stitch patterns for my etsy shop, and also to maybe get back into matched betting. I just updated my Prolific account as well, hadn't signed in in years so there were quite a lot of background questions to answer. We shall see when the first surveys start popping up.
We're getting some compost delivered for the allotment tomorrow as well. I hope there'll be some less rainy days over the weekend so we can move that up the hill and get some more beds ready for the winter.1 -
^And as soon as I posted this, I already had a German language survey pop up. Good to see that Prolific is still going strong!
Edit: Jeez Louis, I just did 8 studies in a row! "Still going strong" may have been an understatement.2 -
I have the day off and Mr julicorn is working from home today too which is nice.
I just started matched betting again today, using a website this time which seems so much easier than my previous spreadsheet approach! Only just on my second sign up offer now; I'm taking it slow, otherwise I'd have to throw too much money at the bet exchanges. I'm hoping to do a bit every day and see how far I can get, my previous attempts were rudely interrupted by covid and the resulting lack of sporting events.
I also just did my nails, Halloween-y of course because it's the most wonderful time of the year.
I was going to either move some compost up the hill or hang shelves up with Mr julicorn this evening, but then I remembered that I'm going to a pub to play arcade games with my colleagues instead! I'm a bit tired and not 100% up for that right this second, but I'm sure it'll be fun.
I hope you all have a good start to the weekend!6 -
Love the nails 🧟♀️!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed
Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!1 -
Thank you @South_coast0

I had probably a glass or two too much to drink last night, but am not feeling too bad today luckily. We'll need to move some compost up the hill after all!
Before going out yesterday, I got a call from a BBC producer out of the blue. Looks like I'll be on radio 4 on some show with Evan Davis, quite exciting! I should get the proper confirmation next week, but it did sound like they wanted to go ahead.6 -
Good day today putting up the rest of those IKEA shelves (one of them turned out comically wonky, but I guess that's character eh?) and catching up on some clothes washing and bread baking while the Agile electricity was super cheap.
Matched betting is going pretty well so far, I've made £85 already. Not bad for the few minutes here and there I've put in.
It's my birthday tomorrow, I've got a bit of an annoying / busy work day ahead but the evening should be nice hopefully
I hope you all had a good weekend too!1 -
I've only just come across your diary but many happy returns for tomorrow! Hope you have a lovely evening2
