Thank you for the reminder of LISAs Sc. I turn 40 next week, I had thought about opening one when they originally came about but circumstances changed & it fell by the wayside, i've added a bit to my ISA recently so have just opened the moneybox LISA and filled it up ahead of my deadline so that's an instant annual target for me for the next 10 years.
Should really look at FIRE more too so this is a great nudge on that too
I hope the gig was good- Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted
- Student Loan gone

Hi trix-a-belle, lovely to hear from you! Thanks so much for stopping by
Definitely have a play around with numbers, you might just be able to shave a couple of years off needing to work.
The gig is still ongoing, between sets right now. So far it's not really my thing, serves me right for going along with Mr julicorn without doing my researchVery experimental ambient electronic music, it's making me contemplate work and my life choices more than not being at a gig, not a great sign.
There's also a reallt good chance of seeing the aurora atm, so if you're not trapped at a questionable gig in London, let this be your sign to venture out4 -

The rest of the gig was a bit better, but more importantly, we managed to catch the aurora when we got home 🥰 So I guess it was more than worth it in the end.
Let me see if this forum still lets me attach photos.4 -

So the budget really took a hit yesterday with our IKEA trip
To be fair, we got quite a few cool things and had a really lovely day out with our friends, it just feels like we should have spent about £100 less. Gonna have to tighten those belts a bit for the rest of the month, but that's ok. I also found a really nice piece of furniture that I'd love to get that's about £150. Maybe that'll fit in the budget next month, if not then December or Christmas money should be able to cover it. I also need to measure the space for it properly first, so no rush really.
We have some shelving and pictures to put up, maybe later today. There's also a lot of clearing to do on the allotment, and we still need to properly unpack from our holiday which now feels like about a month ago (really it only finished a week ago). With having had to work on Friday, and yesterday being taken up with IKEA, it feels like I haven't really got enough weekend to do all the weekend stuff! Felt a bit down this morning, but I just did some exercise and Mr julicorn is cooking us some breakfast hash now, so all is looking well again.
The markets have been good this week too, so our pot currently stands at £183,245. At £186k we'll have hit 20% of our goal, so that's the next target I have my eyes on.3 -

In hindsight I feel quite good about the gig - I decided to sit down at the side after posting, and enjoyed it much more when I wasn't standing in a sea of super tall mid-30s men (it's like they had cloned Mr julicornI'm 5'8" myself so don't usually struggle much to see at gigs, but this one was difficult!). And it meant that we got home just as the aurora properly peaked, so it really felt like it was meant to be in the end.
