Zopa Current account

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed to know. I'm reluctant to open their ISA until I've got a significant amount to put into it, to make the most of the 12 month bonus.PRAISETHESUN said:clairec666 said:
Going off-topic slightly, but can any Moneybox account be used? Trawling through their website, there's no mention of direct debits, so is this the same thing as the "weekly payment cycle"?crumpet_man said:s71hj said:
I assume you have to do something at the Moneybox end too?crumpet_man said:
This prompted me to check mine and I also still have the moneybox DD setup. Added to my calendar now to make sure £1500 is in Zopa before the DD is taken in December.friolento said:I know what you mean by making sense of the Zopa terms.
I still have my DD set up from last year, so will make sure I have £1,500 in Zopa when it’s due to be taken. It will be another month or so from then before I know whether I get any cashback, and how much
The DD will take £1500 from Zopa and deposit to my Moneybox savings account.
I probably don't want to leave £1500 in Moneybox as the interest rate is not the best and will withdraw £1500 which goes back to Zopa and then I can transfer to my preferred savings account.
I only hold a Moneybox simple saver account, which links to your nominated account by direct debit. You can then use it to request DDs payments from your current account, which are taken via the weekly payment cycle you refer to. Unsure if this applies to all Moneybox account types, but I suspect it probably does1 -
Just got an account, and it seems I can't setup a payee which requires a specific reference to pass the name check. I asked support but there seems no solution, and they weren't aware of account that need more than sort-code and account number to pass the name check. Lots of small building society require a reference in order to pass the name check. Happy to know if there is a work around that support aren't aware of.Also do standing orders, get sent on the date specified if the date is a weekend or bank holiday (like some banks) or next working day (like legacy banks)0

They weren't aware? That's a major oversight on their part.bubieyehyeh said:Just got an account, and it seems I can't setup a payee which requires a specific reference to pass the name check. I put £500 in the current account and got the 4.75% offer. It isn’t a biscuit current account though.0

The branding is very discreet (thankfully) especially if you have their earlier er, colourful debit card.I put £500 in the current account and got the 4.75% offer. It isn’t a biscuit current account though.0 -
It probably is a biscuit. Even if you don't want it to be a biscuit. Mine wasn't originally a biscuit, but apparently now is, against my will.FIREDreamer said:I put £500 in the current account and got the 4.75% offer. It isn’t a biscuit current account though.
Ridiculous name.1
